Could this actually be the Lakers trying to squeeze an asset out of Philly? If Philly is convinced the Lakers are taking a player they want(other than Ball), they could have the Lakers take their guy and give them a 2nd round pick(Lakers got none) and #3 for him. If Philly asks them to pick Ball, the Lakers could simply say good job calling our bluff, never mind.

The question is, could Philly actually be convinced the Lakers might take who they want? What if it's one of the wings? Could the Lakers conceivably go after the one of Jackson/Tatum/Isaac that Philly covets? I don't see how Philly could be fooled into thinking they will but it's quite a balancing act but if the price is a 2nd rounder it might be worth it to Philly to just hand it over to for sure get their guy.

the lakers FO were notoriously tight-lipped when it came to anything.

not so sure about magic and pelinka, but there doesn't seem to be very much escaping this office as well.

only real reporters with sources from inside the organisation is ramona shelbourne and kevin ding (those two are jeanie's hitmen)

I don't believe that tweet but I'd be cool if the Lakers went with Jackson. It'd be fun to watch Jackson and Ingram defending the perimeter. Problem is one of them would have to go if they end up signing PG13. I just think Ball is a guy who other players will want to play with and seems like a guy who would plug right into Luke's system.

A lot of the PGs I think are.

    Fox

    Monk

Monk isn't a PG, he's a SG despite having the size of a PG.

yeah, he isn't at the moment, but could adapt to today's nba pg scene.

It would make me so happy to see Ball tumble down the draft board. His dad will lose his damn mind and since he can't stay away from a camera or microphone, we'll all get to see it.

Lavar has been curiously quiet these last few days. Wonder if he got word from the Lakers to stfu.

I'm guessing if Lonzo falls in the draft and Lavar doesn't get fazed over it, people will be disappointed and would find a way to hate Lavar even more. Either way, his son is still going to be a pro and Lavar will continue to be given outlets to promote his family.

Once Lonzo gets drafted I think his dad will focus on his other kids. I wouldn't be concerned about him.

If Lakers draft Lonzo, the Lakers will own Trash Talking Title for years to come courtesy of Lavar !!

What would be the point? Once Lonzo is drafted by the Lakers, he can go back to being the same as he was before. Can't wait until he starts criticizing the likes of Russell and Ingram.

What makes Markelle Fultz a better prospect then Ball.....

Post#1573 » by mdonnelly1989 » Mon Jun 5, 2017 8:09 pm

Based on skill/talent/ability/potential.....what makes Fultz a better prospect than Lonzo Ball?

P.S THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS FATHER....

Primarily his scoring ability. Ball is more of a facilitator.

Better scoring. Can play the 2.
Ball looks very passive at times.

Plus no Lavar Fultz.

IMO - The hardest thing in the nba is to throw the ball to some one & say "here get me a bucket."

You can *should* be able to do that with Fultz. Ball not so much.

Ball's a great player. Dude is a true pg, with a good 3pt % & athleticism. He's the real deal. But scoring 1-1 is harder then that.

But esp in regards to the Celtics, we need a go to scorer. We have enough good team players who move the ball & work well together. We need the dude who's gonna break the play cause he got a mismatch & he's squaring him up.

Balls jump shot form?

I do think there is a slim chance Balls pass first mentality could unlock something special. He would thrive under D'Antonie.

D'Antoni made Kendall Marshall look competent under his system. It's not saying much to say that a PG would look good under him.

They can handle it l, Lonzo is too good to pass up. Kid will be one of the better floor generals in the league the moment he plays. He's very adavanced in that regard at such a young age. He will help all their young guys play better.
