What does win now realistically mean? Does it translate to 50 wins? Is it our goal to become the Atlanta hawks or the clippers? Do we sacrifice a future building block; by trading the pick to become the hawks? Maybe trading the pick is good strategy. It's SVG that needs to go.

we are far from a 10 year run of 40-50 wins.

we actually look like a team can achieve a 5 year run of 35-45 win. and that's mediocrity.

The only way the 12th pick should be moved is in a trade for:

A. An earlier pick
B. A all star in his prime

You're unlikely to Draft a All Star at #12 dude

And also unlikely to move up in this Draft without attaching another asset

In hindsight Alphabet & Leonard don't get drafted that low, neither does Draymond Green or Kobe or Rodman etc

The drama isn't that there's these quality guys picked outside the top 5 - it's that on Draft Day no one knew they would become what they became

So unless you're a better scout than every guy working for a NBA FO then you don't know...

I would imagine you could assemble a team drafted outside the top 10 that would beat Golden State!
