MIN fan here. i was catching up on Dunc'd on podcasts last night and their CHA off-season predictions. One brief mention was to add Shabazz Muhammad in a sign-and-trade to add some offense. I'm not a big believer in sign-and-trades these days after the CBA justly neutered them, but in general, they could make sense for a team like CHA who is over the cap, but well under the lux - and a team Like MIN who could afford to add the salary. I believe that Shabazz will get more than the MLE.
Unfortunately, though i can see the fit, I didn't really see anything that made sense for both teams. For CHA, the free agent contract Bazz accepts will have to be something they would be willing to pay cap space for, so only slightly positive value. Meanwhile, a sign-and-trade eats MIN's cap, so they need to get back someone better than whoever they might get with their cap space - an estimated $33 mil if they don't do a S&T.
Would Bazz help your team? What about Dieng? He's sneaky good defensively, always improving, and locked into a decent contract for several years starting at $14 mil. Any thoughts?
