Why in hell would we want Thompson?
Hes a solid player for sure but not a piece we need going forward
We dont need an undersized center on this team who can only shoot from the paint
no, even Love makes more sense than Thompson and he doesnt make sense except to move to another team
if were moving melo its to get young core players and Thompson aint that
he's expensive for what he is and he's limited as hell
if we were a championship team we could use him
but we would just be lowering his value and moving him again in 6 months
Team without Melo is already a better team (not literally). That's why they are so desperate.
Melo doesn't fit the rebuild at all.
2nd round pick or Melo staying, you choose 2nd round pick, if those are the only two options..
Of course you hope Melo still has value, opened up his NMC teams list.. But that's just gravy.
thats the stupidest thing Ive read in a week
just because Melo has had his value significantly reduced doesnt mean you give him away for nothing
i can't abide this kind of thinking
its moronic
Again, answer this simple question: rebuilding team is better with Melo, or without him?
Using your phrasing, its absolutely moronic to think rebuilding team has any use in Melo. He will still demand his shots, he will win you a couple of games by dropping 30+, so you again.. will not be as bad to get a top5 pick, and your younger guys will get less opportunities on offense.
And value isn't the issue here. Its mainly NMC. If Melo still has the same teams on his list (LA, CLE, BOS), your hands are tied, if only CLE wants him, and that will most likely be the case, you just take what they offer, if its Love - great, if its not, you try and find a 3rd or 4th team which will take Shump, Frye or whoever they will throw in to match salaries. And hopefully you will also get some picks from Cavs.
