Kerrsed wrote:Ok, so Sixers will be taking Fultz no matter what if the trade goes through, i think there is no denying that.

From there the Lakers either go with Ball and Celtics take Jackson, or Lakers snake Jackson, in which i see the Celtics taking Tatum.

This week im back on the Issac bandwagon. I was gun-ho on Tatum (as gun-ho as someone could be when left with our options), as i think trying to Play Issac as a SF wont work out that great and your taking away from a large part of his game by playing him out of position (Weakside defense). But, with all that being said, im wondering about sliding Chriss over to SF and having Issac back at his natural PF spot. I think that really could work out pretty damn well.

..........but if Jackson or Ball are somehow still on the board, we have to take them.

is Isaac much different in size to Durant? I think he can probably defend small forwards out of college better than Durant could. I just think either Bender or Isaac could play SF at times when Warren sits or PF when Chriss sits and when we play small they could all be out there. If Chriss learns to defend better he could possibly play 3 or 5 at times in the future.

Of course the NBA is trending to positionless basketball after GS plays like that and McD and Walton have talked about it.

Chriss seriously lacks ball handling to play SF. It’s a big no at this point. We already have significant issues with turning the ball over and maintaining the flow of the offense.

Hypothetically we would be trading up for Ball, not Jackson, right?

As long as it's the Heat pick. Then we root like hell for Miami to have a good season. We're getting past the point of needing a ton of picks. Use them to improve the team. We'd still have ours next season and it'll likely be much better than what Miami's will be anyway.

I really wonder why McDonough thinks so highly of Ball when many in the league currently don't seem to. I bet if we do agree to a deal with the Lakers, we'll be calling for Ball to come visit and you can damn well bet he will.

It will be Fultz Ball and Jackson.....like always then odds are Tatum, like always.... nothing has nor will change draft night...Sac will take Fox and Magic Issac......then Monk and DSJ will follow.

Maybe Ryan McD valuation of player is different than Buss, Johnson and Pelinka. Why are the Kings rumored to be so high on Fox? Beauty in the eye of the beholder

NBA is about having a transcendent talent or damn well close to it. I think Ball could be that guy. I would be willing to give the Lakers the Heats pick next year for the right to move up to 2. But it has to be a deal made before the draft. No give backs - like the Warriors supposedly did with Curry on the board.

Suns have a good young nucleus - they get the right guy to put it all together - Ball, Kidd, Earvin Johnson - might be the right pick for the Suns

I'm not moving an additional pick for the rights to Jackson or Ball. Maybe a pick swap

If mcd some how managed to pull the second pick wonder what that would do to the Celtics, Philly trade.

If the Celtics think JJ is our guy at 2 maybe they keep 1 and draft JJ which gives us Fultz

Which then might still put lonzo with the lakers at 4

The more I've seen of him, the more I am hoping the Suns take Isaac if Jackson is off the board. He's not a flashy player but he's smart, outstanding awareness, has the potential to be an elite defender and athleticism to play anywhere in the front court. He isn't an explosive scorer but I could see the Suns having a hell of a frontline rotation in a couple years with Isaac, Bender and Chriss.

I'm not even considering trading our 2018 pick to move up 2 spots unless it's heavily protected. There's just too much potential for that to be a high lottery pick regardless of who we draft this year, and I can't see the Lakers thinking the right to swap picks is worth it. I'd think about moving the Miami 2018 pick, especially after their impressive second half of the season and Bosh's cap space getting cleared up.

I agree that the Miami pick is the one that we would look at trading. it is top 7 protected and with the Heat clearing Bosh off the books I can see them putting together a solid team next year.
Just say no to idiots!!

There haven't been any indications from Phoenix that they want to bring Ball in at all. Ford reported they like Ball, but who knows if he is right? I think they fell in love with Tatum and Isaac and are happy with Bledsoe for now. I think they will trade him at some point and his value is pretty high. If they did make a promise to Isaac (and it seems someone did or he would be stupid to shut down workouts) then I don't think they'd trade up.

I like Ball but I'd much rather stay at 4 than move up to 2 unless we can get back in the lotto and grab another prospect by trading EB

I agree, and his defense isn't good either, that's why I said possibly in the future. But I think we have enough good ball handlers that he won't need to handle the ball anyway. But like I said, I don't get concerned as much about slotting people in positions as much anyway. When you are spreading the floor on offense and doing a lot of switching on defense it doesn't matter anyway.

If Celtics backed out of the trade because they thought we wanted JJ, and Fultz dropped, then I would give away a future first maybe (but it would have to be protected..so either the Miami or ours with top 5 protection at least). But the trade would have to happen before the draft, and LA would be dumb to trade the pick before they are on the clock. If Fultz was there they wouldn't trade it. They'd just take him.

Silly to think McD is simply moving 2 spots...

More like securing the player they think is best fit.
