Sixers got it and all they had to do was give up pick 3 and pick 4 or 5 next year.
Every asset in the world danny had last year the Sixers wouldn't of taken to give up pick number 1.
Your missing the back end guarantee. So if the '18 pick is not 2-5 they get the Kings '19. As a trade asset it is just so awesome you either get a top 5 pick in '18 or a '19 pick from the most F'd franchise in the league. This is an almost impossible to acquire trade asset especially since Ainge can mix in some juice with the BRK pick.
That's one way to look at it. I mean to bet that the kings will be top 5 is alot to assume when they haven't been top 5 in quite some time.
There's also the logic that the Celtics should.have both those picks with no protections.

Jackson and Brown from the bench, moving the ball and switching from the perimeter to inside. Both can hit the 3 if you leave them open and when you get to close they will blowpast you, post you up or pass the ball away to a teammate who is open for the 3-pointer.
Ainge and Stevens know their stuff.. Just trust the process.

Especially nobody cares if its marvin or zion in 2019.
Too many "ifs" and "maybes" involved in this move.

Exactly. There are probably two targets the Celtics have after Jackson and Fultz.
This is the problem right here because Jackson looks like a role player and Ball looks like a pass first PG. the only player IMO that has star potential is Fultz.
Thinking there is not much separation in the top 4 is really bad scouting
While I think this trade blows, i will trust pro scouters over internet fans for sure.

But with no protection there is no back end protection. With and unprotected LAL or PHI pick you run the risk that actually do find their ass with both hands and start winning some games. In this situation little risk, Lakers start winning you roll over to the next year and you deal with the Kings unprotected pick who are **** show. Usually the back end is lottery in this case it is top 5 when is the last time the Kings weren't in the lottery?
meatball sub wrote:I think some people are reading the protection on the Laker pick wrong. We only get it if it falls between 2-5 next year. If it's any other pick we get the unprotected Kings pick in 2019, which is basically our Brooklyn pick from this year & next year.
Not that bad. I just hope we don't throw all of this away on Jimmy Butler or Paul George.

Jackson will bring inside scoring and 3pt shooting? WTF are you talking about?

Yeah we essentially traded for the Unprotected Kings pick which many though was better than the Lakers 18, But we also get the chance to guarantee a top 5 pick through the Lakers. That's great value.
