So the best we could do next year is lakers #2 and this years #3? That doesn't seem like its worth the first pick this isn't the nfl.

seems like almost everyone more than hinted at it,but then again maybe i read it incorrectly.

I am no insider but watch an inordinate amount of basketball and have an understanding of what Danny Ainge values in a ball player and saw this coming from a mile away. Josh Jackson is all Danny Ainge.

Now Ainge may jerk me now too but understand for everyone who has been pumping Fultz stat line all season and ignoring the fact that he couldn't beat ... well you know. Danny Ainge had the same stat line and owned.

game recognizes game -- or lack of it. Fultz lit up Yale and lost to them. Jackson helped knock off Kentucky and Baylor when they were both ranked in the top 4 nationally.

Fultz had enormous stats because his team sucked.
Jackson had really good stats even with National Player of the Year Frank Mason Jr. playing the role of Markelle Fultz on that team.

Jackson and Brown on the wings would be amazing on both ends.
And if the draft is flat then I guess they think Tatum's pretty much a 6'9" Fultz anyway and they might not be wrong.

THIS DEAL IS GOOD.

The value is good, but I don't agree. Jackson had good stats because he was playing small-ball 4. He was able to play in a system conducive to his strengths in a way the NBA likely won't allow with his size/frame.

And Fultz didn't put up stats because his team sucked, but in spite of it.

Better to wait for to see if other moves are made before judging the trade. Too early to judge the without seeing, or knowing the end result.Other moves may be made to bring in players who are stars, and turn the team into contenders.

thank goodness Paul Pierce shot 61% from the line his freshman year at Kansas then (Jackson was 57%, but shot much better from the field and from 3):

We lack inside scoring.. Jackson will fill that gap for us and he has a decent 3, so he is potentially a two way threat imo.. Just need a 4 who can do that as well and we will have a very interesting season.

Jackson and Brown from the bench, moving the ball and switching from the perimeter to inside. Both can hit the 3 if you leave them open and when you get to close they will blowpast you, post you up or pass the ball away to a teammate who is open for the 3-pointer.

Ainge and Stevens know their stuff.. Just trust the process.

He was a .378 from 3 point range in college. He was 25 for 52 in the last 2 months of the season. That can be built on.

But favors was the 3rd pick. What I mean is that, you don't get to take everyone that was there at 3 and pick the best one in hindsight. It's more of a crap shoot as you go father down the list. Besides, none of those other players are as good as wall.

They're all better than Wall. Hayward is the only questionable one, but plays the thinner position so I'd take him.

In that draft, ET was a later bloomer and took barely any 3s. Favors has a suboptimal brain type per the Brain Doctor's blog. Wes Johnson was a like a 23 year old junior and people have since figured out age curves much better. Udoh was an obvious role player as a late bloomer and old. You can stack the deck in your favor and have the internal data to see how your boards have done if it's a thin draft. May counter with James Young, but post-lottery and top 10 are different worlds IMO.
