Neither without assurances he would sign and extension with us.

George will kill any trade by saying he won't do that. Not just to us, but anyone.

Aaaaaaand that's why the Bulls will trade Butler this summer and not next.

I agree... and that's why the Pacers won't get a fair return.

I'm not sure that the Bulls front office is that competent. That's wha't they should do but would it surprise you if they over played their hand and end up in a similar situation as the Pacers are now next summer?

Yeah, if we can get PG without dealing Brown/#3/LAL-SAC/BKN, do it! Even if it costs us two starters.

If he isn't willing to trade Crowder and spare part picks for Paul George, then I don't know what the hell he's thinking...

Exactly. That's the big star shooting his way out of town, like KG.

Not as good as peak KG, of course; fewer than 20 players in the history of basketball were. But good enough to be worth grabbing.

If you can get PG on the cheap its a no brainer. He is a stud. Get him and sign hayward/griffin. That gives you 4 stars. We won't be the favorites no matter what we do but at least that gives us a chance. All without mortgaging the future too.

There's no reason for us to not have PG by the start of training camp. We have all the pieces and then some. Guarantee he signs with us, too.

Unless the Lakers have a miraculous season and become WCF participants, I can't see George coming to Boston, a team in the top 5 title odds teams for next season, and then wanting to bolt elsewhere. I don't think it's that much of a risk that he ditches us.

Also, there's lots of talk of stashing Yabu again. The kid will turn 22 during this season. There's no way he's agreeing to another stash year. I think he'll go to another NBA team before he goes back overseas.

It's not mortgaging the future, but that LAL/SAC pick has a pretty damn good shot at being top 5 unless there's bad protections on the Kings part of it in '19 that haven't leaked out yet. I think the George situation is risky enough that it shouldn't require a likely top 5 pick in future. What is everyone else offering? Lakers supposedly don't want to deal any assets. Cavs offer a 29 year old max $$$ Kevin Love to a Pacers team that wasn't even nearly good enough with Paul George, a significantly better player, instead of Love? What does that accomplish for them? And how high is the value of Love around the league after these rough Finals showings where his lack of defensive versatility is exactly why CLE would push to trade him? Is anyone still valuing him at a truly top pick level after the last several years? I would lean towards guessing no.

I think Bradley, Crowder and some combo of assets we don't need at all like Rozier, Yabusele, BOS '18 1st, LAC '19, MEM '19 could get it done with how little leverage they possess right now. I wouldn't put a potential top 5 pick in play unless George is telling Celtics he'd be happy to come here, which seems unlikely at the moment. By all accounts, you are gonna have to change his mind over the next year more so than getting him to commit to anything now or be real excited to go anywhere but LA now.

Will be interesting if Bulls now talk to Butler again after seeing this George thing happen.... and if both teams move PG & Butler what they get in return.

He stepped down because he saw the writing on the wall and was like, "F-this".
