I mean how specifically have the Knicks wronged Porzingis? Over the triangle? Phil hasnt said anything publicly disparaging him that I recall.
Phil disparaged melo and it rubbed KP the wrong way. Melo has taken kp under his wing and theres a lot of respect there, yet Phil disrespected melo pretty bad. Fans are looking at it as kp throwing a hissy fit, but in his eyes he's defending a teammate. There's actually some honor in that.
Maybe that's the problem. Phil is trying to implement a system that Melo wants no part of. You know, things that actually win in the NBA like ball movement, moving without the ball, defense, rebounding, being coachable, getting an open shot, setting up teammates. If Porzingis stays, Melo has to get lost. And if Porzingis is mad about Melo being forced out and expressing it publicly, then adios to him too.

we know it's serious in here when you're throwing down blocks of text.
And I agree with your point that the most exciting time for knicks fans is when they're not on the court.
it's sad but it's all we got

Quoting you not to reply to you but to use ya post as an example. It's so tiring addressing these type of post, I don't know why people continue to write these kind of things.

Its amazing that Phil re-signed Melo when Phil knows what kind of player Melo is and how Melo is not synonymous with the things Phil wants to instill to the ballclub. Amazingly head-scratching, that is.

Okay, I'm going to break it down to you in simple terms because a lot of people are getting on Phil for the poor decisions he's made so far. Who hired Phil? James Dolan. Who hired Phil to become President of the franchise? James Dolan. Who hired Phil after knowing full well he had no executive experience? James Dolan.
So when you think about it rationally, how could you expect Phil to make great executive decisions right off the bat? Phil has had to learn on the job how to be an executive. Giving Melo a no-trade clause was a huge mistake. Signing Noah was a huge mistake. How he deals with the fans and media is a huge mistake. How he's treated Melo and Porzingis is not much different than the way any great coach would treat his players. But he's not the coach, he's an executive and still learning how to deal with players in this capacity.
But I want you to know that I'm not defending Phil here, just applying basic principles to him that you and everyone else, including me would apply to any rookie or someone as young as Porzingis who is still learning how to be great at what he does. Phil is still learning how to be a great executive. The problem is, he doesn't exactly have a great mentor in James Dolan to teach him how to be the CEO of the Knicks.
It's really not rocket science. Even Michael Jordan had to learn how to be great. Yes, he could score with the best of them as a rookie but in order to win championships, he needed to understand what makes a great team.

you made it a little too personal i think. he's just a kid. kids make mistakes. this is rather benign if you really think about it. he's throwing a little temper tantrum or whatever. if he plays well, who cares. if he doesn't, that will be the disappointment for me. not this. but i'm that way in general. i don't need to like a person to enjoy what they do. i can separate it. if he was a complete dick it wouldn't matter much to me. you invested yourself in believing him being a nice kid, so now you're seeing another side and it disappoints you. that's what letting you down. i understand. but just focus on if he can back down someone he's a foot taller than next year. that's the important stuff. if he goes on to play well for years, nobody will barely remember this.
No, KP threw a temper tantrum, JANIS took it to another level to justify his leach like existence living off his brother now. Now he can feel all important again by crafting this event to achieve some sort of goal, whatever the f*ck that might be.
This reminds me of that corny sh*t that would happen when CAA was all over Melo. I thought with KP there might not be any, but apparently Janis got his hands on the Latvian language version of "Being A Super Agent - For Dummies"
it could be that janis is behind this or it could be kp's wishes and janis acting on his behalf. i don't know that we know or that it's important. i'm saying though, it's all just noise. it won't mater much. maybe there will be more pressure on him to perform like you said. but there was gonna be plenty of that anyway.
and i think in general msg breeds dysfunction, so that will always be with us. it just happens to be at a high right now. and this is gonna sound like me being me but i think the guy at the top has created this atmosphere. and that's where we are right now.
