Read on Twitter

I should've clarified -- rumors that favor the Celtics. Ugh.

Honestly, looking over that dude's Twitter page, what he's saying is exactly what someone who hosts a radio show and wants people to tune in would say.

Just my opinion, but the difference between the 8th best player and the 18th best player is immaterially small and largely fluid. I don't think arguing over where George falls on that scale is overly important.

I agreed with this in February, but I think he raised his game from March on. Probably top 10-ish.

I think you have to judge a guy by a whole season, not the closing stretch. The Nets made that mistake with D-Will and the KG/Pierce trade.

Paul George is in the early stages of his prime, not on the exit ramp of it.

Body of work. I would have said he was top-5 or 6 before this season, based on his skill set I'm not really changing on this one 'poor' season.

https://theringer.com/nba-free-agency-blake-griffin-paul-george-spurs-83e7a97d1cf0

If teams are hesitant to offer Griffin the full max, or even a four-year deal, the Celtics could always offer Griffin more years at less than the max. Griffin is a better player than Hayward in virtually every category other than 3-point shooting. He’d solve Boston’s major rebounding issues, while also providing a playmaking presence that Brad Stevens could unlock.

Murmurs around the league that Plan B Blake Griffin could potentially be had for less than the max. Delightful.

Ab can get them one first rounder, also crowder+ our 2 picks...thats 4 pick, one could be top 3 in 2019 as sacramento pick.

We should not include that pick

PG is a top 10 player. I'll be sick if we lose him over a draft pick, particularly a non bkn pick

George is very good but he's not a top 10 guy anymore.

Regular season George and play-offs George. Eventhough it was a 4-0 the team who could keep it the closest with the Cavs were the Pacers.

It's simple enough for me. Name me a list of forwards who can go toe-to-toe with KD/Lebron/Kawhi on offense while playing them well on defense. George is on top of that list, if there's even a list.

In some ways George's career arc kind of reminds me of Pierce. Not similar styled players, but similar arcs. Some early success with both players making the ECF, and then their teams get blown up a bit early. Like Pierce, I wonder if this caused George to sulk a bit..change in scenery could help George out a lot just like Doc helped Pierce get back to normal in 04-05 and 05-06.

Honestly Pierce was pretty bad in 03-04. He was not playing anywhere close to what he was capable of, and I feel similarly about George. Could be wrong, though.

Those are the 4 super swings. There are no more. We need one.

His game consistently scales well in the playoffs, but if you average his last 3 healthy regular seasons in RPM he's not particularly close to top 10 (in the 50's in 13/14, 13 in 15/16, 37 in 16/17).

I'm so confused as to why he wasn't plan A, then trade for George. Does George think him and Hayward would do more damage ?

Speaking of lists... someone on here really wants this thing to happen. We're only 2/3 into the thread limit. It's beyond embarrassing lol. Someone put that guy on suicide watch once it's announced he's going to the Cavs or Lakers.

Wonder if anyone has ever cracked 200 before?

That would be pretty impressive on a high-traffic board lol.

From Kevin O'Connor's article:
The Pacers would be wise to target a package that resembles what the Warriors might have offered the Wolves back in 2014: a mixture of players entering their primes and future picks. The problem is finding a team capable and willing to do it. Fortunately for the Pacers, two of the handful of teams reportedly interested in George could meet those criteria.

The Clippers could dangle DeAndre Jordan, but they don’t have much else. The Cavaliers would have to flip Love for assets, unless the Pacers are fine with running on the playoff treadmill of mediocrity. The Wizards don’t have much to offer other than a sign-and-trade involving Otto Porter. However, both the Rockets and Celtics can put together a mixed bag of assets, greater than any other team rumored to be chasing George. Houston has tradable veterans like Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, and younger talents like Patrick Beverley and Clint Capela. Similarly, the Celtics have Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart, and a long list of future draft picks they can put on the table.

KOC, PatBev is about to turn 29, older than Eric Gordon.

He was not motivated and didn't look into it last season. We didn't need his offseason comments to already see he didn't want to be in Indiana. He's still got plenty of bball left and can be right back into top 10 status next year with us. You definitely give up the Laker/Sac pick.for George. We have the Nets pick anyway. Can't be a greedy hoarder.
