We would take Melo off your hands with an unprotected 1st rounder attached for next year. Hell, we will even give you expiring Trevor Booker in return.
Melo gets to stay close to home atleast.
our first rounder or yours?

He'd be on the next flight to Cleveland.
yeah it's a terrible idea to knuckle under to him for a buyout. if he feels trapped then good for the knicks-- they have leverage. we are going to have to be overpaid in any trade. if other teams thinks he is a good fit to help win now, then high 1st round picks are the only logical pieces to demand in return.
he should think about changing his role on the knicks as a backup plan, be the good soldier and accept a sixth man role. that would be the grownup thing for melo to do if a trade is not in the knicks' favor.
Who's starting at SF?

You said because of A, B happened.
I tell you B would of happened regardless of A and gave you proof of the interest PJax had.
Then you say wel that wasn't my main point.
You're the one deflecting. Not me. I stuck to what I said. You are not.

it doesn't really matter since we're trying to build something. and, since anyone they have will be a better defender------> the team defense for the starters will be much better without rose and melo out there together.
and, when dad melo comes in off the bench as a 6th man, he can devastate *their* bench, score points more efficiently, and help the knicks build leads or make comebacks as the case may be.
we need to establish a defensive identity which can then be taken on the road as we try to become a legitimate playoff team, since defense travels.
i think this is a GREAT scenario for both melo and the knicks, so please be kind and don't try and kill my buzz.

And if you had bothered to read my response to FPJax, you would have read that I agree with you on Phil probably wanting to bring Noah in regardless of Melo
Melo wanted to stay despite saying he wouldn't, so we decided to accomodate him by making win-now moves. This is not blaming him for the actual moves Phil made, but by reneging on his promise, he set the direction. Melo makes us too good to tank, so Phil wanted to try to make the playoffs. It didn't work.
And talking highly of a player you just got isn't "proof," it's standard procedure
So Melo is blameless for everything despite going back on his promise then, because he doesn't make the moves himself?
Phil takes the L for the actual moves, Melo gets it for refusing to do what he said he would

despite the fact the knicks are 2-16 in the games melo has missed the last 2 seasons
as someone already said melo is a scapegoat to cover up for phil's mistakes
mistakes like giving melo a NTC so carmelo would take less than the max to give the knicks more cap space after the 2nd year of his contract ...
cap space is good , using that cap space to sign aaron afflalo , not so good
melo being schrewd negotiated a trade kicker to give him back the money if he were to ever allow a trade, but until he allows it he is a knick and the only to get rid of him with out his permission is to cut him and pay him every red cent he is owed .

Melo and his agent should be applauded for that deal alone. Leon Rose is one of the best in the game.

It's likely going to be a very long time until we see a NTC handed out again for anybody but a top 2 or 3 talent.
