Avery Bradley might be one of them.

Like when? Any deals in the past involved IND/CHI asking for massive hauls for George+Butler because the players weren't truly available until this off-season. It also involved us very likely having to punt on our max cap space and passing on the chance to acquire a Hayward or Griffin esque talent for nothing but $$$.mzepol wrote:The Rondo Show wrote:Because fans are a lot more impatient than teams. I don't think that's a rational fear though. IND is going to pass up a chance to get a deal they like more when they already waited past the draft because they don't want to wait 1 more week? Not buying that even slightly. If there was a deadline, it was at the draft (so they could pick their own players and not have to accept who other teams valued most at those draft slots) and they already waited past that. If a deal for George happens now, think it's a sign either Lakers panicked and offered Ball or Ingram, or the Celtics talks were never really very close to begin with. I'd be shocked if IND blew up a deal they liked most because they don't feel like waiting an extra week, though.mzepol wrote:Why do I get the feeling that we will be surprised George is suddenly traded by IND to another team as the Hayward thing is taking too long?
Man, I really hope you are right. It's just that too many opportunities like this have slipped past DA's fingers, waiting for the right deal to come along. Then someone else beats us to the punch.

On that front, I do think it's funny that people are writing Miami off because of Hayward being a gamer and allegedly an introverted family man that is not interested in nightlife. Maybe he is only that way because he's been in Utah for 7 years. I don't know about where he bought his house in San Diego and what, if anything, that implies. Even meeting with Miami considering their blah team situation says at least a little something.
This is why I'm shocked people are understating the threat they bring to the table. Right now I put Utah in the drivers seat barely. Then Boston then Miami. But I believe Miami will be the winners at the end. Never underestimate Riles.
He can sell Hayward on the area on the weather on the outdoor activities up north for the kids the stable ownership and other things. Then he can tell Hayward that they've won 3 titles in the time period Boston has won 1 or the Jazz zero. Then he can show Hayward his ring collection. Don't underestimate this guy. I'm telling you.

Pritchard came out and said if they had to take George into training camp waiting for better offers, they were willing to do that. FWIW. They don't want to get ****** in the ass more than they already have. I guess they hold some leverage since George is the only star seemingly available in the market and teams willing to take the risk could still bid for him.

If he goes to Miami he ain't the dude I thought he was.
Wasting your prime playing for a borderline playoff team for the same money you could get to play for a contender? So you can enjoy the night life? Psh.
I think he's meeting with Miami as a courtesy.

And they might not take the best deal. Did you see the report by Bulpett about Celtics not willing to give top draft assets? As i said it yesterday, Pacers are most likely stubbornly asking for one of Tatum/Brown/Bk18. And i think they will take a lesser offer from other team for George because Ainge will not blink, he never does. Can't blame Pacers, they are gambling and maybe they'll win.
