Suns have been bottom 3 team outwest for 3 years now...
Some of you suns fans cant be picky... Should be happy that any FAs want to join the team.
Or you guys betting your houses that Bender, Chriss and Booker will become all stars and carry the Suns to a championship?
Well for me... Of course I rather suns get another stud from the draft next year but getting Griffin now opens up possibilities of 2018 FAs wanting to come to the Suns...
I think the main thing people look at is us being in the WCF in 2010 and letting Amare walk due to health issues. In the previous two years, he had missed 29 games, but it was due to an eye issue. We let him walk when we were in the WCF.
As you mentioned, we are a bottom team right now. Blake has missed 68 games in the last two years, so that is the biggest issue by far. If you are on the cusp, betting on a guy like that might be worth it. If you are a bottom team, is it worth it? Obviously to many, and to the owner wanting to get the fan base excited it is. Sarver has had a very short term outlook ever since he bought the team.
Of course there is the fact that we drafted two PFs last year and have Dudley as their vet (not that he matters as much) but people on the outside wonder why take two PFs...now we sign another one. Sounds like our past actions regarding point guards.
So as exciting as it is to sign Blake, I can understand those who have hesitations, especially at $30M+ a year and it probably makes it more likely that Bledsoe is given a 30M+ a year contract in a couple years as well. That's a lot of money to invest in players that are big injury risks and I'm not sure how far they take you anyway.
