The only explanation is that we are planning to be at the bottom of the league for a couple of years. I think the newer hawks fans will bolt and we'll be on a 5-10 year quest to build the brand....again.

This is my view as well. I was dumbfounded when I saw the team option aspect of that contract. Millsap will be at an all star level for the duration of the guaranteed portion of that contract.

How does a potential Crawford buyout affect our cap? We lose out on $16 mil of cap space with this S&T but do we get it back if we buy JC out of his contract?

Hi Hawk fans.

Just want to confirm exactly what Hawks are doing?

Are they going the 76ers way of tanking for a star?
Are they saving space for FAs?

I mean... Damn, from a 60 win team a couple of seasons ago to an entirely new roster with mostly unproven players save for a couple.

Reed would make a lot of sense.

Other option: Moreland (cheap)

I'm definitely in favor of acquiring Jonas V. But don't want us to pay much to get him in trade.

Can't say much for his fit with the roster still in flux. But he's a young, talented big that can put up solid numbers in a euro-style offense.

I have no idea on how he can J Collins would mesh in a front court together. But JV is a piece worth getting and figuring out the rest later.

NOTE: With so much in flux, I wouldn't risk either the Minny pick or the CLE pick in trade for him.

Well you're in luck because we are basically moving him to save ourselves from a ridiculous tax bill. Masai would want as little salary coming back as possible. We are reportedly trying to do the same with Cory Joseph, and Demarre Carroll as well.

Depends on the terms of the buyout. Unlikely that Jamal is willing to forego much of the money just to get out of Atlanta though. That and his contract is a nice trade chip for a team trying to shave future salary.

Hawks are rebuilding but I don't think it's Philly style per se. Philly was trading off their young NBA vets for picks.

I'd love to bring over Crowder, but first want to see how much he'd cost in a trade.

I'd really like Jae Crowder at the right price. Preferably meaning I'd not want to give up any of our first picks next year...definitely not our own pick or Minnesota's pick...maybe Muscala+the 2018 Rockets pick???

Also would love to get my hand on Willie Reed. Not sure how the market is for him but I'd be willing to do a 3 year 27-33 million for him.
