Celtics need to clear some space, they don't need another big salary, especially not for an average guy like Dieng. Proposed deal with Minny is terrible for C's. Cmon people.
Vucevic, Dieng etc. make no sense for C's. Bigs are easiest position to fill. Len, Plumlee, Pachulia, Baynes, Dedmon, McGee, Tarik Black etc, will get under $5m a year. Why pay Dieng $15m?
10 pts 8 rebs 1.9 asts 1 stl 1 blk is why.
What do you think the Celtics can get for Bradley or Crowder?
He's a 27.5 years old, average starting big, making $14.1m, $15.1m, $16.2m, $17.2m next four years. You can get a guy for BAE or room exception that's doing 80% of what he's doing. There are so many bigs on the market, there's not enough $ available. Some of them will be forced to play for the minimum, QO or small exceptions.
I would rather have Tarik Black/Willie Reed/Dedmon/Jeff Witney for third or quarter of Dieng/Vucevic's price. Look at C's salary structure going forward and explain how adding a role playing big making that $ makes sense. Isn't a better idea just to keep Bradley and pay him?
What can Crowder or Bradley fetch? I have no idea. A pick and a guy on a small salary? Combining both of them makes zero sense and it's not happening UNLESS Celtics are getting a REALLY good starter back. Dieng/Vucevic are average guys.
