these takes are stupid. Nobody who wants to keep there job is not wanting to trade for a valuable player because the other guy has known to fleece people. You make trades because you believe they will either help now or in the future. The problem we have is Many of the teams that would want win now players have filled up. We're not in position to take back equal $ while those teams have to get equal $ out. Bad teams don't want win now players and give up cheap assets. It's not in their best interest. It has nothing to do with helping Boston or DA. If Houston, OKC, Clippers, Nuggets could afford Crowder, Bradley and Smart on their current deals and give us something back of value they would have done it already. It's not that hard to understand.
OKC had no problem trading for George did they? Or the rumored trade involving Carmelo?
See, YOU don't understand. It's part of the natural human condition. If IT was on the block, you may seem them break ranks. Instead, they will make a trade, but it will 100 percent be on the side of the other team. As I said, none of these players are must haves.
Bradley- expiring, and is an injury risk
Smart-can't shoot and is going to need a contract
Crowder- great contract, solid player but not a must have
It's no different than them asking for all the BKN assets and others for trades. If Philly wanted Fultz so bad they would have given up 2 1sts for him if it was any other team. I believe that. Instead, they begrudgingly coughed up one.
This is an even worse take. Your comparing Paul George to Jae Crowder?
Let's see Boston can't take back equal value in $ to make it work. So they have to find someone pretty cheap they like. Ok for craps and giggles since I've already done this 4 times let's find some. I found Hermangomez and Portis earlier. If I'm Boston I kick tires on those two teams. Bulls why would they want Crowder? Their rebuilding, they can play young guys, tank and build there, why give up a young controllable rotation big who could blossom with more time? Knicks, same argument as above? Ok how about Rockets, OKC, Clippers and let's say Minny. FOR THEM TO MAKE A TRADE THEY have to send out equal $. So getting a 3rd team which takes time, needs to be incorporated. We can't swap Crowder for a player on their roster because we can't take back the same or more $ as Crowder has going out.
It's not that HARD, if GMs black ball other GMs out of spite, they will be out of a job real quick, because that's not how you do good business.
The best option we have to get value is to trade to a good team who has space. Like Spurs and Utah right now. Find assets on those rosters, or figure out a 3rd team to get involved who may want picks to absorb a contract.
GMs who blackball the Cs over Bradley, Smart or Crowder aren't going to lose their jobs lol. Boy you are grasping at straws with this one.
Face it. Every team in the league KNOWS Danny needs to make a move. They won't do jack to help until the trade is cents in the dollar. Call that balckballing or whatever you will, they will make Danny pay.
In that regard, they are doing exactly what they should be doing.
