Yep, by the next year, he'll have more than enough money - and be primed to play meaningful games in April, May, and June...

I heard he was screwing around but I didn't know he actually impregnated one. Is she having an abortion or having this love child?
This brings a whole new meaning to the term dadMelo.

At 10 million per year i'll take Harkless for 3 years- but I want nothing to do with Meyers Leonard at 9 million for 3 years- especially considering we are already tied up to Noah. For the next 3 seasons we would have close to THIRTY MILLION tied up in two useless front court players.

Cavs only need to offer Shump,Frye,RJ to beat that. The knicks save $16 million starting next summer with that trade.
There's no rush for the Knicks to accept either offer but when the trade deadline approaches, the cap savings the Cavs are offering will be the best offer.

For some reason this fan base isn't seeing this. Add in keeping Lee and KP is up for a super extension soon and you're cap strapped considering the cap isn't likely to move much the next few seasons.
Our team is basically KP, Willy, Noah, Lee, Timmy, Frank and Baker going forward.
That's depressing as f*ck
How is that depressing asf, bro? You're delusional. The team has more young talent than it's had since you were in diapers. Lee is more than moveable. 3 more years for Noah will fly by as the Knicks rebuild and grow from within. Stop making it sound like the team is doomed when they're in a great spot.
Let's see how depressed you are next year when these kids are looking good running the floor, sharing the ball and playing some defense.

Cavs get- Carmelo Anthony
Knicks get- Iman Shumpert (2 years, 10.3 mil per), Channing Frye (1 year, 7.4 mil), Richard Jefferson (2 years, 2.5 mil), Kay Felder (2 years, 1.3 mil)
The return the Knicks are getting is so bad they could probably easily sneak a 2020 Cleveland first round pick in there.

Jefferson's contract is only guaranteed for 1 year. So it frees up $17 million off the books in summer 2018.
Significantly better than taking on Anderson or even Leonard for 3 years.
Just goes to show how toxic Melo, Phil, and Dolan were/are to this franchise.
