Because getting something is better than getting nothing, melo is a very good player, but the ISO gets annoying.
I'm sure every knick fan is eager to see the knicks play a actual offense and I wanna see that sooner rather then later plus it's more shots for the young guys it's a win win in both cases.
Not true. Sometimes getting nothing is better than get crap lol. Pacers are a good example. They traded PG for Oladipo and his horrendous contract who is good enough to win them a few games and prevent them from completely bottoming out and getting a top 5 pick to start their rebuild. They would have been much better off losing PG for nothing which would have preserved cap space and allowed them to completely bottom out the following season for a top 5 pick. Instead, the are locked into an atrocious contract for a player that will lead them to the 10 seed in the east.
