I think it actually allows all star weekend to be focused on without the thought of trades. Remember what happened with cousins last year?

Will it though? i guess not as much hype or anticipation but more so the talk and reactions of the trades(if any)....

what happens if someone gets traded from conf to conf? lol

IMO the last good ASG was Jordan's last one with the shot over matrix.

This guy is a bonafied star.... I really wish Sean took the initiative to take this guy... D-lo and Mitchell would've been a devastating combo for our future.

What is going on with the disillusion going around that Knicks need to get cap space + young players + picks for Melo? Shouldnt it be other way around? They have to give up assets to get rid of his contract and get cap space?

i dont see any of these changes really speeding up the game...

the built in TV timeouts are still there at the same 2 per quarter. thats a bulk of the issue. stopping play inorganically to go to a 5 minute commercial break. best part about fiba/olympic ball is no tv timeouts. those games flow so much better.

also the changes to 60/20second time outs are 100% irrelevant. late in games a time = a commercial. and they arent starting play to til back from commercial anyhow.

I think what would REALLY help is the timeouts to advance the ball to half court at the end of the game... no need to stop the game, just move it to half court and resume

The Knicks have no leadership or anyone that is remotely attached to reality running that **** show. None.

They aren't getting anything and they'll be lucky to get back expiring salary.

lol @ the tv timeouts not changing. that's what drags the games into the crapper flow wise. I can't hate though, it is a business after all.

I'm not really into putting any value into summer league... but man, Lonzo Ball absolutely dominate last night. The dude is a special player... the kind of guy who just makes everyone around him better. Jason Kidd like passer in that he doesnt seek out assists but still racks them up because he is always making the right basketball plays.... on fast breaks he will pass it to half court if thats the best play instead of pushing it himself to try and get an assist. he promotes ball movement and giving it up to get it back type play... you can tell guys love playing with him and bigmen run harder with him on the floor cause they know he will reward them if they do.

special passer/court vision. people knock his shot form but he isnt a score first player. and you cant leave him open cause as ugly as it is he will knock it down. he is also similar to kidd in that early on he looks to get others going and not himself but knows when he needs to pick up the scoring load. Would have loved this kid brooklyn. just great makeup and god given skill. his dad is a loudmouth but he is still pretty humble and personable.

brought the team back from down 16, including a bucket plus the foul down 100-98 with 20 seconds left to win the game.

yeah that's why I found it silly that people were celebrating the fact that he played like garbage in the SL's first game. Dude is a legit playmaker. defensively, god help him, but you can see the upside is massive for this kid.

I actually would have preferred the kid Boston drafted with our pick though. That guy is going to be a stud and would have fit right in with our rebuild. oh well

Tatum will be excellent too i think... but you can find guys similar to him. Guys like Lonzo dont come around very often, especially in this era where gaurds are typically shoot/score first and get assists more due to usage then to trying to create for others.

His D might not be great but he does get tons of steals and blocks and defensive rebounds and PG defense is the least impotant on the floor.

I'll tell you one thing. Brook Lopez will have a field day playing with that kid. those lead and entry passes are textbook.

For my Lakers sake, i pray to the basketball gods that he's the savior that everyone is hyping him as. Cuz if he's not and/or he doesnt convince PG13/LBJ to join the Lakers, we burned DLo as an for nothing.

Ball/DLo backcourt woulda looked mighty fine. DLo provides scoring and secondary playmaking, which is perfect for a GSW style offense that wants to move the rock fast which supposedly Luke Walton was supposed to implement (i honestly think he's a joke who rode on some serious coattails). Thankfully getting KCP for a year takes alot of the sting away and i also hope to god that Prok's constant cheerleading of him being a much better player but stuck in a terrible system is true.

Also the real story about Lonzo Ball and his reemergence after his terrible 1st summer league game... he ditched his dad's terrible ass shoe brand BBB and went with Nike kicks. Damn talk about a serious boost to Nike's rep, go from **** shoes to ours and go back to being a star ;)

Lonzo Ball doesn't make EVERYONE around him better. Exhibit A: His dad.

Kid should cut his hair and cut ties with his dad, and focus on his hoops life.
