Lol, I love how this board thinks if I think Kobe is better than Lebron, that equals hate for Lebron. You sure there is not a flipside to that coin...or am I to believe Kobe and the Lakers are loved here?

What is Kobe better at than lebron?

Did LeBron troll himself

Post#1642 » by Maul Merchant » Sun Jul 23, 2017 9:36 pm

By strong-arming the Cavs to give horrendous contracts to clients of his agency?

First, Cavs had very limited options of improving their roster because of a bloated payroll and having mediocre players on immovable contracts. Now, one of the reasons mentioned about Kyrie's request was that he didn't like what the roster would look like when/if LeBron leaves in 2018 - he most likely meant Thompson and Smith, who will still be on the books for another 2 years and $66 million then.

IF LeBron would actually prefer to stay in Cleveland, his constant game of non-commitment and creating leverages to get what he wants for himself kind of backfired.

Kobe was forcing his way to the Lakers regardless of where Shaq went. The Lakers were, in part, only able to afford Shaq, b/c of the deal they made with Charlotte to unload Divac and his salary (which netted them Kobe anyway). Until that point, they may not have had enough to sign Shaq.

Lol wut. I mean, it took a couple years, but the Heat are headed in a great direction. If it wasn't for injuries last year, they still would've been a playoff team.

It is clear that Lebron only cares about his brand and image.

He left the Cavs by making a TV special out of it (LOL).

After winning a couple of championships, he left a stacked Miami team to peddle the "coming home narrative", in which he had the team gutted and built around his liking.

Now three years later, the team has peaked talent wise, has the highest payroll in the league and Lebron, the person WHO CONSTRUCTED the team, wont commit to playing there after this year.

And you guys are mad at Kyrie? LOLOL

He may have. Interestingly enough, he and Chris Paul (VP and President of the Players' Union at the time) also lobbied the NBAPA to support a 1-year cap spike over smoothing, and we all know what happened as a result of that.

Please don't try to sell people on being a playoff team in the east as a accomplishment. Please don't.

I don't see how people have been angry at Kyrie. He has been a fan favorite. He has been generally quiet through his tenure. Other than playing with Dion at most. So has Kevin. Neither has ever deserved so much hate. It seems everything comes back to Lebron and he is the main reason Kyrie doesnt want to be there from the contract situation and not comitting long term. I feel bad for Kyrie and KL. Hopefully he moves on to a team and a fanbase that treats him well.

realk talk, feel sorry for a team that ends up having Kyrie as their franchise player

he dont play defense and apparently he wants more touches for him to jack up more shots, well that smells like a 9th 10th seed in the east, exactly where he been before the Andrew Wiggins draft and Lebron James arrival

Kyrie has always been a weird dude so this isnt overly suprising. The thing I dont understand is that he wants his own team and to be the #1 guy. He has proven he cannot be the #1 guy and have great team success because his play style. But even if thats the case, why not just stay in Cleveland and have your own team as the #1 guy when LeBron supposedly leaves next year? It doesnt add up, if LeBron said he is leaving to Kyrie, why wouldnt Kyrie stay?

Either way, this may be a blessing and give the Cavs room now to add more good pieces for a Finals run and add depth. The first thing I think of is trading Kyrie in the rumored 3 team deal for Eric Bledsoe and getting Melo in here. Maybe picking up a good backup big man in the process. The options are endless really but one thing is for sure, the Cavs now hold all the cards in the trade market and could get a massive haul for a 25 year old top 15 player. It should be interesting
