smith's ceiling is kyrie-esque, and if he stays healthy he's likely to reach that. so what would be the point of the knicks doing that trade at that point?

Because prospects are more likely to bust than reach their potential. One player right now is "potential," the other has proven what he can do on the court and has off-court advantages as well. It wouldn't have been a lock, but I could see New York being torn between potential + rookie contract + locked up for 8 years versus proven star + marketability.

Go look up the % of top 10 picks that become all-stars, let alone multi-year all-stars and all-nba. That ****'s depressing.

There is not real way to make sense of this.

Yeah, the whole Chandler being with him seems pretty meaningless to me if Phoenix didn't end up being on the list. Maybe they were talking about playing for the Spurs though.

@ESPNNBA: Doesn't look like a Kyrie trade will be happening soon ... at least according to Dan Gilbert. https://t.co/SOlFLQ9bU7

I think the Cavs say no since they are taking back older players and poor to semi poor contracts.

Ariza is good friends with CP3 - that's what helped get him there. But, stuff happens

Yes, he is. Someone posted a tweet of his the other day with a Melo rumor and a trade would go down by Tuesday at 5:45. I noticed he only had like 145 followers at the time. Kerrsed said he was legit and broke something before though.

It's just been kind of a running joke.

That would have to be our first. MIA '18 I'd think.

I would make that trade.

I am not sure Cleveland does as they take on salary and get older - but they might

I think the Suns make that trade

JJ13 wrote:Kyrie doesn't need to be a superstar. We were open to trading Bledsoe for a lottery pick, so if it's Bledsoe, Warren & Miami pick, consider it two picks and Warren for Kyrie. That's a steal for a top 6/7 PG...ALL STAR...who is 25 years old on a reasonable contract.

Kyrie fills a gap that Bledsoe didn't...youth, talent and upside at the PG position. What other All Star PGs 25 or younger do we envision acquiring in the next few years? Next's year's draft is stacked with Bigs.

Kyrie (25)
Booker (20)
Jackson (20)
Chriss (20) /Bender(19)
Sauce (24) / 2018 draft pick

That is a VERY solid young core.

A large part of why the Suns were willing to move Bledsoe for a 8, 9, #10 pick was due to his coming huge pay day (28 million+ per). A drafted PG (Ntilikina? Smith? or even Monk) would be under their control for many years and far less expensive. With Kyrie they not only still have that "part" to deal with, but it could become much worse. Irving is (in degcrees) running from a rebuild in Cleveland, and he will "need" even more bucks (35m+) than Eric to resign, on a team that may squeeze into the playoffs his second year...and playing in the West, he'll be lucky to make an all star game over that span.

...Warren is pretty good too. Warren and a pick is the difference between Bledsoe and Irving on your ledger? How many wins does your Irving trade prop add to the Suns win total the next 2 years?...versus keeping Bledsoe (keep looking for that deal) & Warren.

I did not say anything like that! You are thinking of someone else. They saw it originally on the Knicks board and supposedly they had faith in him because he reported a Lawson deal a few days before it happened. Also mentioned something was happening in Houston and 3 days later they got CP3.

But once again, let me stress, it wasnt i who posted it and didnt say anything about his legitness.

The way to do this is to develop 128 twitter handles. Make opposite predictions with each half. Drop the handles that are wrong each time. By the time you are done, you will have one left, but you will be legendary because you got 7 in a row.

Burt Steele once outdrank the Dos Equis guy to a point where he was clinically dead for 3 days,

before being revived by a lapdance from a Hooter's waitress.

He even bitch slapped a former Mr. Olympian for trying to cockblock him!

Image

Word is that he gets his info from little birdies in the Houston FO.

I was joking...though I did remember you mentioning the CP3 think and it seemed as if you were insinuating he was somewhat credible.
