1. Looks like you don't understand green font.
2. I'm fine with going on the record saying Wiggins will never be worth a max contract while Towns and Butler are on the team.
3. Wiggins and his agent have only known about the date to sign a 100+ million dollar contract since Wiggins was drafted #1, so yes, I find it a little puzzling that he nor his agent had carved out time to get this done, it's only been on their schedule for a few years. Kinda makes me think the max wasn't being offered hence Wiggins' party not being around to deal with the owner till the max was being offered.
I just don't care about the font color. The text is all I needed. So again thanks.
Sounds like a lot of assumptions. It's been a month since free agency started. In that time they have been trying to convince any quality free agent they can to come here. It's only been within the past couple weeks that Wiggins contract extension has come up. In that time Wiggins has been overseas and in Vegas on Adidas promotions. Who knows how many other free agents his agent has been working with or whatever business dealings he has. We have no idea Glen Taylor's schedule. So to assume so much based on so little time between a report and an actual signing seems a bit nuts to me.
You don't understand green is sarcasm, noted. The extension has been a known for years, the addition of Butler changes the variables for Minnesota. Before the trade yes, Minnesota had to bet on Towns, Wiggins and possibly LaVine being max players and hoping they all or at least 2 of them would be great values at their price. That I absolutely get. Replacing LaVine with Butler changed that, you have a body of work with Butler to expect a certain level of play from him(I'd say very few Minnesota fans really understand how good Butler is). Towns showed a lot of growth last year, LaVine and Wiggins in my opinion didn't, in fact they were basically the same or worse their 3rd year vs their 2nd year but got more shots.
If Wiggins' had made some real progress on his defense sure, he'd probably be worth the gamble.
Let me say this, if Wiggins doesn't improve by a decent amount, he will hurt the team at the end of games. Just going off how good players were at the end of last year, Wiggins is the 3rd best scorer behind Towns and Butler and defensively he's 4th or 5th depending on where you want to put Towns at. Towns just happens to be a super efficient high scoring big man. Butler's an efficient scoring 2 way wing, Teague is a solid 2 way PG and PF will be a defender in Dieng or Gibson. If Wiggins' defense doesn't get better he may be actually hurt the team being on the court IF there is a defense wing on the roster. Before Butler yes, you run your offense through Towns and Wiggins, after adding Butler you don't. It'll be interesting to see how people view the players and their contracts(and upcoming contracts) next summer.
These are just opinions that won't be validated or shown to be wrong for another 8-9 months.
