A lot of people don't realize the subtleties of Nate's classical sumo. 6'2'', 170 pounds, he is something of a prodigy.

He's the greatest pinner of all time. The Stockton Sumo really is too large for weight classes.

Anyone have the latest on the Tony/Khabib saga? My understanding is that awhile back, Tony posted on twitter that he signed for the fight but Khabib's team said Khabib is still not recovered from last time so wouldn't sign. Khabib's management denied this. With that said, now I'm seeing all these rumors of Tony vs Kevin Lee for UFC 216 or 217.

Khabib probably holding out for that Conor fight that Conor supposedly wants.

I still doubt that happens. Conor said he wouldn't fight Khabib due to KN being a pullout merchant and Khabib has fell out of another fight even since that statement.

You must be right on this, because now in addition to Ferguson, Khabib turned down a fight with Barboza. Source is mmaimports which I'm not super familiar with so take it fwiw I guess.

Amazing match-up. I only wish it could headline a FN or Fox card to ensure 5 rds. I think this otherwise goes to decision.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Alright I give up, what's the bout? It doesn't show up on my work computer due to the firewall and doesn't show up on the crappy realgm app either.

GLORY putting Bigfoot Silva aginst Rico Voerhoven is truly one of the sickest things I've ever heard. I will never support Glory again, regardless of the outcome of this bout.

All American Stann stepping down from his post as UFC analyst to go into Real Estate. I mean I understand it when it happens for fighters like Iaquinta who can't make ends meet and are getting hit in the head for a living. But I don't so much for a commentator. That is unless they aren't paying their commentators either. If he was making a comfortable living, I think he should have stayed on, because it's a passion, and I can't imagine Real Estate is. It's not like he's making a sacrifice to change the world.

I know there were mixed feelings about the job he was doing, but I thought he was pretty insightful about technique, strategy, and had a likeable enough personality. So I'm disappointed to hear this and think it's more likely than not his replacement is worse.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/mma/popular-commentator-brian-stann-leaving-ufc-join-real-estate-firm/

I am announcing my departure from calling fights w/ the UFC. I have been offered an amazing leadership role with a fast growing Real Estate Firm and will be attending Northwestern (Kellogg) for my executive MBA this fall. Thank you to everyone for years of support, especially the athletes and coaches whom I love deeply. I will continue to be a huge MMA supporter and attend many events. Thank you to everyone from FOX and Zuffa who helped me so much in this journey. @jon_anik you are my brother and that will never change, and I cannot tell you how important your friendship has been to me. My wife @teressa_stann who has endured so much and supported me through war, fighting, and now this transition, I love forever and thank you so much. This move is to focus more on my family. I traveled 26 weekends last year for work while also working a full time job. Transition and change are a part of life and I am really excited to prove my worth to my new company and hopefully showcase the diverse skills military veterans and mixed martial artists possess. Thank you all. - Brian

So it has to do with travel time & not spending time with his family & children, I can't blame him.

I thought he was super professional but a little boring. I don't really agree with the insight component which I feel is lacking from most of those guys except maybe Cruz. Stann was obviously as professional as possible at all times and did his research. I feel like Joe just mails it in half the time in that regard these days.

You're a bjj snob :), but his analysis of the ground was good for a guy who was known almost exclusively for his stand-up, he could provide that too of course, and he made a lot of salient points about strategies to win (maybe because of the history at Jackson's) which I think is under-valued. He wasn't humorous, but certainly didn't lack enthusiasm.

UFC should poach Militech from LFA like they do their fighters. Use it as a training and proving ground for announcers too. Miletich has proven himself as an analyst there (like Schiavello, who you also weren't fond of, maybe you're just a commentating snob :))Certainly he isn't lacking in ground or any type of technical insight, and he has a number of good stories in him.

Magomedsharipov? I feel like that is just an amalgamation of every Russian last name I've ever heard.
