I mean, it's literally half the money, plus we're getting at least a half decent asset or two out of it

that contract is very fair in todays market. Also fits our 2-way young player team concept.
the borough of queens and Greenie aint happy with that comment.

I don't want the young guys to have to deal with this situation for 2 more years. That's the just the way I see it. I'm tired of this sh*t. Am I saying that it's a good deal, no, but I don't see any good deal out there to be had. Melo expanding his list or opting out next summer (I don't think he would) are different stories, but I'm just commenting on your initial scenario of Melo opting in and then we buy him out. I would take Ryno and a 1st over that scenario. I really want this to be done with before training camp starts or at least by the start of the regular season. Enough of this every season.
Then you keep him and either he opts out after this year, he has an opt-out or he becomes an expiring. Making a deal just to make a deal is dumb.
my dude, I've clearly stated that I would take Ryno and a 1st over the scenario of Melo opting in next summer...not over him opting out next summer
I don't want to deal with this Melo situation for 2 years, that's where I'm at at this point...it's cool if people disagree

you're capping out the team with role players. that's not how contenders build teams. they pay the stars first, then the role players. do it in the wrong order and you're screwed. think of this scenario, kp really becomes all we hope and guys around the league take notice. some player wants to jump ship and come play with kp but we have no cap space because we used it on harkless and myers leonard. so it's dumb and shortsighted.

fine. if his contract is fair, use him to dump myers leonard and send me an expiring. you guys never get it.

we need to get better first before any big time free agent considers us. The Noah/Lee $$$ is the chip we will need to cash in for another superstar down the road. Harkless 10 million ain't costing us a major FA.

your struggling to understand. We will just overpay a role player next year if we get an expiring. NO (big time) FREE AGENTS WANT TO COME TO A LOTTERY TEAM!
