Looks like some good players in the draft!

I'll have to decide on the keepers if he isn't around. I think that is Terovibe. I figured it would take your default top 7 stat guys.

I'm 90% certain that;s not terovibe cuz he's my friend.

It's not. It's NTB who isn't playing so that team may be taken by one of two people right now. I'm waiting on someone to get back to me who is probably asleep for another few hours.

I think an all out lotto minus whoever won. If you're the champ, then you're the champ! Congrats. Time for the rest of the guys to better themselves. That makes it so no one tanks and people get a little bit better odds with the Champ sitting out of the lotto.

And while i dont think Tanking is really that big of an issue in Fantasy, some players become less active and do kinda give up on the season once they realize they are doing poorly and cant win. Having a larger lotto makes sure that they arnt rewarded for doing so.

15 teams in the Lotto, with the 1 Champ sitting out and taking the last pick.

Thats my opinion on the matter.

So NTB isnt playing anymore?

We could always drop it down to 15 teams. #ImJustSayin'

How about the Champ picks draft order, but has to be the last pick? The rest of the league is at the mercy of the champ.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

So pretty much the champ would just give the picks in order of how they finished, thus ensuring him that he gives the best players to the worst teams. People would then tank so the "Champ" would think they have the worst team and get the top pick.

Yeeeeeaaaaaah.......no.

I dont think that we have the NBA level tools to add in odds (Percentages) into a lotto. Fantasy lotto randomizers only take us so far.

Well, u attribute number combinations to each player and then just randomize one number and see who it belongs to.

Doesnt weighted odds encourage tanking though? I thought the whole idea of this was to get away from that?

Don't think it's fair for the worse teams to just depend on luck (talking about the all teams random draft xcept champ). Then the guys that went the draft young & potential route are kinda screwed. No point in doing a dynasty then. Maybe we do 8-8 split, bottom 8 go on lottery.

I'm fine equalling the odds. May be fairest to do it next season though, to let everyone adjust their teams strategy accordingly.

It was clear some drafted pretty young teams last season hoping to add a good player on this year's draft.

After looking back at last year's thread, we clearly should have set up the draft rules going forward. I guess I figured it was pretty standard as to how these are done.

I knew if we opened it up for discussion, it wouldn't go over well because everyone would have their own self interest. So I researched a bit and it sounds like it's standard to do a reverse order with sometimes some sort of lottery for a certain number of spots.

However, for us to establish that lottery cut off NOW for this year isn't fair, because everyone will want the cut off after their team. Even though the strategy for determining lottery teams each year I came up with sounded silly to at least one person, it's random and should fall within a decent range.

But yeah, as mentioned, if the best teams can end up with the top pick, it kind of defeats the purpose of doing it dynasty style.

What we could do, if there is an actual lottery simulator out there, is do one that kind of mirrors the draft, where no one could move down more than like 3 spots, and the odds of getting the top picks went down substantially the better you finished. It certainly shouldn't be completely random like fftoolbox.

We could also make a rule where a team can't have a top 3 pick 3 years in a row or something.

Batsmasher can do that in excel pretty easily I suspect...?

Also we could penalize ppl for inactivity, like for every 5 matches not played, 1 spot down the draft or smthing. Somewhat an anti-tanking and anti-inactivity measure.

It's not a bad idea to do something like that, as I think the last place team was pretty inactive, but I don't know that we need to make it too complicated.

Miyagi's idea about taking the bottom five teams and ordering them in the draft according to games played. If everyone played all their games, the order stays the same, but if a couple of people played less, they fall to 4 and 5 with the least amount of games getting 5th.

Well I thought if I established what we would do this year and in future years we could start, but then you opened up the can of worms about other ideas, leading to more, so now we are stuck. It should still probably be reverse order for this year, but we need to establish what it will be for next year first or we run into the same problem.

That's only because of your premier luck..your dynasty luck wasn't so great. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1481272

This isn't a bad year to do complete reverse order because the draft was deep, so no matter where you pick it's probably not bad, and of course if we leave it as a snake getting a couple closer together might not be a bad thing.
