The Hurt Locker
My brother is in the Army and did two tours in Iraq. So one day years ago he was in town visiting and i asked him what he thought of The Hurt Locker. He proceeded to go on a semi-angry rant about why he hated that movie so much and supposedly so did guys he dealt with who worked in bomb disposal. Almost made me feel guilty for liking the movie when i saw it.
What didn't he like? Was a great and intriguing fictional film for me.
It was years ago so hard for me to remember exact words my brother used, but the gist of it was that Renner's character did things no bomb disposal guy would ever consider doing and his adrenaline junky kind of attitude toward his job was the exact opposite manner toward which real bomb disposal men handled the job.
You gotta keep in mind though my brother is in the military and did two tours in Iraq, sometimes guys who were there when real stuff actually happened, they nitpick military movies and can even get really annoyed by stuff that the average person watching has no clue about. It's simply entertainment to regular viewers, they don't watch and think, hey that's ridiculous and not how things really happen like those who were soldiers have first person frame of mind.
