Whatever the New Orleans season was called, I thought it was good. Haven't gotten into it since.

I enjoyed Freak Show. Finn Wittrock was absurdly good as Dandy and I didn't know John carrol Lynch that in him.

So I was hoping The Orville would be a fun 30 minute space comedy and it's the exact opposite of that. It's terrible.

The Hurt Locker

My brother is in the Army and did two tours in Iraq. So one day years ago he was in town visiting and i asked him what he thought of The Hurt Locker. He proceeded to go on a semi-angry rant about why he hated that movie so much and supposedly so did guys he dealt with who worked in bomb disposal. Almost made me feel guilty for liking the movie when i saw it.

What didn't he like? Was a great and intriguing fictional film for me.

Good list! But please do explain to me the appeal of "Bad Lieutenant: Nic Cage". Because I do not get it.

It's a Herzog film done with the naivete and audacity of a film school student, basically a mixture of craft and balls.

Iguana cam.

Lucky crack pipe.

"His soul is still dancing."

It's a great cast with a legendary gonzo/tender Cage performance. Herzog claim he never saw Ferrara's original is one of the greatest troll jobs in cinematic history or one of those it's so crazy it's true revelations.

Movies that I ran out of room to include, among others:
North Dallas Forty
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot [Eastwood and young Jeff Bridges]
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid
Annie Hall
Purple Rain
*ETA: Putney Swope

That's a good explanation right there. Another movie I'll to watch again.

I thought Kingsman 2 was like 20% entertaining and 80% a huge mess. Pretty disappointing effort.

This season of Halt has been so great. I'm gonna miss it a ton when it's finished.

I liked it more than the first one, but I wasn't a big fan of the first. My favorite part is when it finally let loose in the last half hour or so and just went completely over the top. And that's basically all this new movie is from front to back.

What can I say - I like my stupid action movies to embrace their stupidity. I'd much rather watch that than have it be half-filled with dramatic moments that miss the mark for me.

It was years ago so hard for me to remember exact words my brother used, but the gist of it was that Renner's character did things no bomb disposal guy would ever consider doing and his adrenaline junky kind of attitude toward his job was the exact opposite manner toward which real bomb disposal men handled the job.

You gotta keep in mind though my brother is in the military and did two tours in Iraq, sometimes guys who were there when real stuff actually happened, they nitpick military movies and can even get really annoyed by stuff that the average person watching has no clue about. It's simply entertainment to regular viewers, they don't watch and think, hey that's ridiculous and not how things really happen like those who were soldiers have first person frame of mind.

I love some mindless action from time to time, I am there for any Fast and Furious movie, but all of that stuff just didn't land for me in this one like it did in the first one. Also, I probably had higher expectations because I thought the first one was a pretty good movie.

I really really enjoyed the first one. I was worried they'd ruin the second by trying to hard and seeing that they added Channing Tatum as an American Counterpart didn't give me any more confidence. I'll still go see it on a $5 tuesday but I'm not holding my breath that I'll like it as much.

I've started watching The West Wing again. It's funny how many of my favorite scenes were in Seasons 1 and 2.

The trailer for "Downsizing" looks like a pretty absurd and hilarious look at what upper middle class people will talk themselves in to.
