Wonder if Harden will get punished by the league for that push down. Was Chalmers really kicking him as Bull kept saying or just trying to get up and got tangled up with James. I didn't watch the post game so maybe they had a better angle than what they showed during the game.

Bro, I agree that I am insanely freaking pissed. I was at the game and said loudly "what the ****?"

But, as rules state it (from what I understand), that a ref screw up like that still counts as them just being part of the court...since no Memphis player hit it, it's still out on us, even though it wasn't our fault

And...yes I'm just as pissed as you

You should become a Utah Jazz Warriors fan then.

Refs are considered part of the court if I remember correctly

As someone who was a basketball official for 18 years, you are correct sir.

look like Chalmers is using his legs to lock Harden leg
no call from referee

and stupid referee stand in the passing lane

anyway
up by 10 with 6 minute left
play garbage at the end

To me it looked like Mario was just trying to stand up after flopping and James was in his way. Regardless of the circumstances I think the shove was excessive and a lesser known player would have been ejected. James might get fined or even suspended.

Did ariza really have to play 40min? Is there a reason why pj and luc couldn't have taken some more minutes from him

I heard this over the call, but damn, that is blatant! Why is the ref that close in on the play? That's not just interfering in a Houston passing lane, but in any normal passing lane.

I get the rule; but that ref was a dumbass for being in that spot.

Of course you feel that way.
Were you furious that the Houston crowd had the audacity to boo good guy Chandler Parsons too?

Right on all counts.

1) That's the type of instigator/chippiness Mario has been known for his whole career going back to his time in Lawrence.
He got what he wanted by baiting Harden into a confrontation that cost the team a crucial possession.

2) The rule is the refs are considered a part of the court. That said, I have never seen a referee so far out of place in all my years involved with the game of basketball. He was LITERALLY in the passing lane of a teams offensive set. He was there like a spot up shooter!
We won't likely ever hear about it but I wonder if the league will penalize that ref for his egregious error there.

3) Regardless of all the tomfoolery at the end, the immutable fact is that the Rockets had a double digit lead in the 4th quarter and still lost. Eric Gordon was the only consistent source of scoring and when he went to the bench the offense died.
Perfect recipe for a loss to a motivated division rival.

The good news is they won't have to wait long for a chance at retribution. They go bear hunting again in 4 days.

We lost due to lack of bear pics.

Can't let that happen again. Will have to fetch all my bear pics off of photobucket and host them somewhere else for next time.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.
