he only averaged about 5 pts a game in france, and shooting is what the scouting reports noted he needed to improve coming in. we will see, hes young. has time, and the team with the time. we will see if it translates.

He shot high % from the 3 and scouts felt he had a good stroke. The biggest complaints were his lack of explosiveness and finishing in traffic

We need the guy who sees the floor and runs the team, and plays D. We had explosive last year but, by itself, it's not enough.

You mean like that Detroit game we played without Melo this year? Bad PG play can ruin 4th quarters on any team. Anyway, nice to see some leadership from the PG position coming from Jack and Frank.

Sure he can start on a bad team, but so can ramon sessions and jarret jack. if he doesnt find that jumper he will never be a bigtime PG. but he has plenty of time to improve, so its a great start.

no he made a good improvement this year in his percentages. He was actually predicted by ESPN to have the highest probability to be an all-star because of his shooting efficiency at such a young age. but he also had the highest bust potential because he didnt play a lot of minutes so the sample size was small.

when I heard that I smiled, because I knew those advanced stats were something you would have to decide using the eye test to determine if he was going to be a bust or a star. and watching him play in the finals in france I knew this kid was going to be good. all-star I don't know yet. but since Timmy is not a lead guard you are right frank is going to get some opportunities to shoot from all different spots on the floor and under pressure, we will see how his shooting translates.

You do this in every thread. Get over Melo and enjoy what was a great night for the Knicks future.

Such a weight off our backs. Just enjoying the lightness of being. It's a great feeling - get into it!

I'm into it. I've been into the youth movement. You know what I'm not thinking about? Melo, because we finally (FINALLY!) have a PG

Damn. If this was legit the reason why LFT called for the ball, that is one of the coolest OG moves I've seen in a while. He even just drops it and walks up court like he knew exactly what he was doing. Frank is like, "wha? you want the ball?" and instinctively gives it to him. Then after LFT drops the ball and goes upcourt Frank still doesn't understand and puts his arms out asking for an explanation. That's next level OG isht right there.

Having a guard that can... wait for it... guard the perimeter is going to make such a difference for the defense. KP is gonna be swat central on the rare chance one can sneak by.

watching his team drop to 2-3 on a missed shot at the buzzer made the night that much more enjoyable tbh

That's pretty sad

he shot 41% from 3 though. 50% so far this season. :)
Frank's shooting is what vaulted him to a surefire lotto pick. His handle and aggressiveness, along with his lack of elite burst were the concerns about him.

I'm pretty sure that goes as a team turnover and it's not charged to any player. I just check the boxscore and LFT doesn't have a turnover... but I wouldn't doubt that he did it thinking it worked that way which is really cool

BKN was daring Frank to shoot and going under on everything. Glad to see he didn't hesitate to punish them

If we can get someone to guard stretch 4s, we'll have the 2 main points of attack covered by potentially elite defenders.
