I am disappointed, because he is a better option at C than Chandler now and in the future.
Bender/Monroe would be a solid frontcourt coming from the bench, we need a third scorer.
Well...it is OK, never mind. We will see what we can get with his expiring contract.
Yes I don't understand this. Two years with the Bucks he was averaging 16, 9, and almost a steal and block per game. I know he wasn't a great defensive player but we desperately need another scorer, especially in the post. I actually think he may be a quality player for us in the short-term. I'd like to see if we could possibly trade Chandler to maybe the Cavs for Channing Frye? We could even throw in the Raptors 2nd round pick, though I'm not sure that moves the needle much. The benefit for us is to shed more salary.
Back to Monroe though, he's only 27 so if anything he fits our timeline better than Chandler, plus he kind of has that Warren mentality where he doesn't talk much and just plays the game. I think if used properly he could be our 3rd best scorer behind Booker and Warren. He doesn't seem to bad at the PnR, and can actually catch the damn ball.
The only reason I see us potentially trying to buy him out is because he will take away minutes from our young guys, but that shouldn't be a problem if we trade Chandler. He could also provide us some wins, which again, is why we may be considering buying him out.
