This is the guy. Nickeil (and Lonnie Walker) are the best scoring SGs in the draft that also play defense and create opportunities for others.

Read on Twitter

Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be one of the best backcourt prospects in a draft class light on them.

He can initiate offense in the half court, manufacture quality looks off the bounce, set the table for teammates, threaten defenses with his shooting range and check a range of perimeter players. Any team would welcome that package of skills in its backcourt, even if Alexander-Walker lacks the superstar ceiling.

When asked about his individual goals this season, Alexander-Walker began with, “Try to be on first-team all defense.”

He’s a shrewd playmaker and smooth ball-screen operator who excels attacking in transition and putting pressure on defenses as a scorer and facilitator.

Says one opposing coach: "he’s a driver, shooter, pull-up—you name it. He can do it all."

couple of pick senarios:

Ayton C / Duval PG / Vanderbuilt SF

Doncic SG / Carter C / Vanderbuilt SF

to add to Schro, Prince, Collins, Bembry and we need to see Dorsey get some minutes. Plus trade for draft value Dedmon, Illya, Bel

Bamba is off my board. Dude looks about 8 years away from his NewOrleans Noel-esque ceiling.

Agreed. He's been mentioned as a top-5 prospect all summer, but been consistently ranked as the 5th pick at best.

He can impact a games/series with his defense, but can't anchor a franchise.

I hope he ends up in NY. That would be fun to watch Bamba and Porzingis.

Bamba was never on my board because i don't like his one dimensional game, and even in high school he would disappear at times and just go 5/5 for the whole game.

Porter is already off my board.

That leaves Ayton at #1 with Wendell Carter, Bagley and Doncic as a distant 2nd

Miles Bridges is also close to falling off. He hasn't been bad, but he also hasn't been that impressive in his first 4 games. He just looks very average so far.

A guy we need to pay more attention to is Brandon McCoy, he is going beast at UNLV at the moment. If Ayton is KAT, then McCoy would be Myles Turner in comparison.

I'll check out McCoy to see how real he is. Get it? Real McCoy .... c'mon these are the jokes folks.

I don't like Carter at all. Smallish back2basket post guy, somewhat athletic, not perimeter-oriented. sniff, I smell Carlos Boozer 2.oh no ... eh EZPass for me.

Boozer is actually a pretty good comparison for Wendell. He is a bigger taller version of Boozer with his athleticism and skill set. Bagley has more hype because of his PG skills, but Wendell has actually looked better and out played Bagley in the few games they have played so far.

That's kinda what I'm getting at. Carter's game imho is better suited for college whereas in the league I expect him to have a low ceiling, limited potential.

In terms of impact, I see him being a Taj Gibson type.

Boozer in today's NBA is a bench player at best. I'm not drafting that guy, certainly not with a lotto pick.

Wendell will be a long term starter in the league. He is an strong rebounder, adequate jump shooter and capable of scoring on the block.

He is slow footed and doesn't have the bounce, agility, athleticism of other prospects.

He is a cross between Monroe and Horford. Strong, smart, slow, shooter.

He needs work on his big man fundamentals: boxing out, setting screens. He seems like a low key 15 & 8 glue guy at Center.

Al Horford was the comparison of choice for Carter entering the season, and the comparison still suits him well.

At 6-foot-10 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan, Carter already has a mature defensive frame. He’s also an advanced offensive player for his age, with nice footwork around the painted area and solid instincts as a passer.

Carter adds to that with his perimeter shooting. He has only attempted four 3-point shots this season, but hit two of them and has shown decent range in the past.

I used to say we need a top 5 pick this year...now I think we need a top 3 pick. It's a must and I hope the league recognizes this. It's our turn. Have we ever had the first pick in the draft? I know we had #2 Marv and #3 Gasol/Hor. The league kind of owes us..I mean what did Orlando and Cleveland win the first pick like 10 times combined lol...Shaq/Webber/Dwight/Lebron/Kyrie/Bennett...the league needs to put Atlanta back on the map. We know the lottery is fixed anyways so just give it to us this year...smh..Ernest and young my bean bag..

And none of those sound like franchise changers - just plug-n-play guys - pass.
