This is the guy. Nickeil (and Lonnie Walker) are the best scoring SGs in the draft that also play defense and create opportunities for others.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker could be one of the best backcourt prospects in a draft class light on them.
He can initiate offense in the half court, manufacture quality looks off the bounce, set the table for teammates, threaten defenses with his shooting range and check a range of perimeter players. Any team would welcome that package of skills in its backcourt, even if Alexander-Walker lacks the superstar ceiling.
When asked about his individual goals this season, Alexander-Walker began with, “Try to be on first-team all defense.”
He’s a shrewd playmaker and smooth ball-screen operator who excels attacking in transition and putting pressure on defenses as a scorer and facilitator.
Says one opposing coach: "he’s a driver, shooter, pull-up—you name it. He can do it all."
