We just lost our best player for a good portion of the year. We're allowed to be emotional on a message board.

Dont know the severity of it yet (Stage 1/2/3), but it has to be pretty bad when he could not move at all. Thats not a good sign.

Hoping for the best but expecting the worse.

I've had groin strains in my time but never to the point where I couldn't move. Even mild strains take a couple weeks of rest to heal properly. I think we should expect to be without him for some time. As you said, these kinds of injury tend to get aggravated easily so it's best for him to take his time from a recovery standpoint.

Yup. They heal slow and get aggravated easily. This will be a year long issue guaranteed. Strains and pull
s are the worse.

Is this an injury that players typically fully recover from though? Less concerned about Booker missing time this year than I am about him having to play with lingering injuries moving forward.

This absolutely sucks. Terrible, terrible feeling right now.

I can’t imagine what the team is going through.

Will be interesting to see what this team looks like without Booker.

I've had a lot of abdutor problems thru my life. You cant recover at all and they're always there.
I'm no DBook tho, hopefully he'll manage it well enough. I can certainly trust our medical staff to get him right.

OK well either way hope Booker is 100% healthy within a month or two (worst case scenario).

More importantly is that he's in peak condition when he returns and his workloads are managed to avoid any unnecessary risk of further injury.

If he sticks to a recovery plan, he'll come back with no issue. With our medical staff, I'm quietly confident

If we were without Devin Booker so far (looking through the games and how he played / game margin) I estimate our record would be 4-22.

i strained my abductor a few months ago (running after heavy squats with sore ITB)... should be 3 weeks if its mild, if the tendon is strained, 3 weeks for sure... if its the muscle... 2 weeks.

It is not that emotional to think that IMO. The game was over and Booker was fatigued, that helps to get injured.

Obviously the injury is not Triano's fault, but he did not need to play Booker all those minutes in the fourth quarter.

The Suns have no incentive to rush him. If anything, I can image ownership quietly tank for one last season under the ruse of 'being careful with our star player'. A little bit like I'm sure the 76ers have done with Simmons. Without Booker, we're easily a bottom 3 team in the NBA.

Hope Booker doesn't try to rush back. Competitive guys like him aren't always patient enough to stick to their own recovery plans.

I don't think we have any reason to rush him back so imo it's on him to stay on that recovery plan. He's a competitive guy he could rush back and try to play at 85%. I sure hope he sits out for as long as he needs aka let the L's rack up.

Yeah, I think that he is not gonna be out for more than 2 weeks. We will see what the doctors say, but I am not too concerned at the moment.

Booker's turf toe has been on going for 2 years, let's get this one over with once.

This will give him some time off for the toe as well. Bummer to see any players get hurt. Take your time Book, get 100%, and hopefully some guys step up.

If Warren can stay in games, this would be the time he takes the next step. It would be great if Josh steps up (did I really watch him dribble up the court and throw the ball out of bounds on the drive?)

Get well soon Book.

Congrats Toronto. The Suns had zero offensive rebounds the entire game.

Once again this year the Suns organization is proud they could help another franchise achieve a historical entry.

Oh, it just takes a long time, because scar tissue isn’t as strong... he will have periodic sharp twinges and he will have tightness. It takes a long time for it to “completely” heal. Also, he will be hesitatent for fear of injuring it again. Long term he should be fine. I’m no doctor but I’m basing it off of all of the football and track injuries that I have encountered either myself or other athletes and now the kids I coach.

Derrick Jones Jr seems to be doing some things in the G League.
