For a guard, Fultz is one of the longer ones, for a SF, Tatum isn't. Both are very advanced in terms of technique but at the end of the day Fultz went number one overall for a reason, and that reaason is because he was the best prospect, not because Colagnelo is a dunderhead and Ainge ("I drafted Fab Melo! And Joe Johnson! But dealt the latter! I haven't come up with a legitimate long-term answer at center for a decade!" etc) a genius.

Those griping about the trade to get Fultz certainly have a right to do so but given a number of you wanted Josh Jackson and Lonzo Ball (and bleated on about it for months) with our draft pick the rest of us reserve the right to pillory you if you even utter a bleep about Jayson Tatum in this thread.

For the Celtic fans reading this I think Danny Ainge is a very good GM but he's made his share of blunders over the years, so those putting forward Tatum and the possible Laker pick/Kings pick as a sign of genius probably just have a selective memory. Good GM? Yes. Genius: no.

Does it count as selective memory if you remember that Ainge got the Celtics job a year after Joe Johnson was traded to Phoenix?

Well, if we're being selective the years 2002 and 2003 were a bit of a blur for me, so yeah, selective memory.

Ha ha! Good one!

It was Chris Wallace who made that Johnson trade. He made blunder after blunder in Boston including trading the 8th pick in the draft for Vitaly Potapenko, drafting Kedrick Brown, and then trading Joe Johnson instead of Kedrick Brown to the Suns.

He was a terrible GM for the Celtics, then turned it around for a while in Memphis, building them into a very good team. Wallace did give back to Boston though, by trading the 2019 or beyond Memphis pick for Jeff Green.

Back to Fultz: It's too early to judge. He's obviously got a lot of skill and his rookie season got screwed up, but there could be something there.

The Celtics fan of all people trying to get us back on topic.

Enough with the Tatum/Ball stuff in this thread guys. Just because certain people can't get over the past draft doesn't mean the rest of us should have to deal with it.

There is something there. He just has to gete healthy. I saw enough in those 4 games with 1 arm to know that. He can get his shot whenever he wants and he was playing good defense.

IT isn't an if...it is a when.

With Fultz back in Philly, I’m thinking we start to see and hear positive signs of Fultz’s return leading up to the Lakers game. Maybe not that game, but hopefully in the games following, he’ll be back.

Lakers game is the start of 3 games in 4 nights/4 in 6. Doubt the team will practice or have a lot of shoot arounds during that stretch. Best case would be something pregame.

Actually maybe they have a practice today? We'll find out soon.

I thought they usually have shootarounds the day of games? I feel like Pompey always has some clips the afternoon of the games. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

They skip them sometimes when they have a lot of games in a bunch or are traveling. Pretty sure there was a game or two last week where there they didn't have one, several on the west coast trip etc. I think they just do film on those days.

They will just announce nothing new, he is still recovering and will be out until further notice. Which he likely will be back next year. They should go straight to the source, his agent.

What if, hear me out, they let Fultz play a game or two with the Sevens to get comfortable.

honest to god if they hold this kid out for an entire season due to this crap.. it is an absolute joke

I dont even want to say anything else because I'll sound irrational but I will lose a lot of respect for a lot of people involved with the 76ers if this thing drags out much longer let alone the entire season

Remember this was something originally said he can play through and heal while playing...

This organization is proving yet again what a joke it is, and if this isnt the organization, then Fultz is a MAJOR issue moving forward

Our FO was tone deaf enough to have an injured player play for a month.

At best our next update will be that he will start practicing in a couple more weeks. I still think he's headed for another "he's still progressing, he'll be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks"

telling you mid January at the absolute earliest, and probably sometime in Feb if at all.

That was probably also due to optics as they didn't want yet another draft pick to start the year hurt....

and it backfired.

Josh Harris and fam, have no clue how to get out of their own way. As much as I want to blame Colangelo (he is still apart of it) but a lot of the **** surrounding this team has been due to people like Scott O'Neil...so yeah I could see them making yet another poor choice in this situation.

He should get some reps in Delaware , that makes sense...but lolno

Remember BC brought up the HIPAA law regarding Simmons injury on a interview last year? I can see him using that excuse again. Absolute joke they can’t give us a straight answer.
