IT was 2nd team all league and 5th in MVO voting. You just out Kyrie 1st team and top 3 even though he’s having an inferior season.

So both stats and team record are irrelevant? Got it.

Why don’t you explain to both me and the masses what it is that makes Kyrie the equal of Curry so far this season? What would it be that you’re basing that statement on?

Well, he is averaging 24.3 ppg, shooting 49.5% from the floor, 39% from 3 and a career-high EFG.

And, he is doing it with a team that is one of the youngest in the nba, that starts a rookie, a second-year starter, and a role player in Baynes.

And, Kyrie is just starting to get comfortable.

He also has been lights out In the 4th, and has made his teammates better, Tatum, Brown and Baynes.

And, ask Celtics fans Kyrie or IT. No one is missing IT. Ya gotta watch him play. I think if you just look at box score, your missing it. He isn’t dominating he ball like IT did.

And, I love IT. Kyrie is the goods, however. He and curry are the favorites for that Other guard spot on the first team. Wall, IT, Westbrook won’t be there.

You just said stats were irrelevant when I noted that Curry has better numbers. And then that was the first thing you came with.

I give up.

You actually can. But it’s not in the way that it’s been stated. Durant and Curry play off one another so when the voting comes it’s going to be almost impossible for either one to be ahead of Kyrie unless KD clearly outplays Steph or vice versa. That’s what happens when you have 3 stars on your team. Basically voters in theory get behind one player per team. If KD and Steph are in the top 5 it splits the vote.

Now while I would put Kyrie in 3rd currently it has to do with his ability in the clutch and yes the 4th quarter. Say what you want but it’s a massive achievement that the Celtics still have the best record in the east with Hayward going down. Kyrie looks like he’s an actual alpha outside of the playoffs as well. Is he a better player than Curry? No. But that doesn’t actually matter for voting purposes. If CP3 starts putting up 25 points and 15 dimes a game it’s going to screw with Hardens candidacy too. No clue who will win it this year. But it’s probably going to be a better race than last year where from game 10 on it was Harden vs Westbrook.

Durant wont’t steal votes from Curry for one of the guard spots on the all League team. I can say that with 100% certainty.

Not talking about the NBA 1st team. Talking about MVP

Then you were deviating from the question the other poster was attempting to answer.

He had also mentioned the MVP voting. So not quite deviating from it. Will he beat Curry for that? No clue. Still over half a season left to play. Before the season most would probably have locked in Westbrook for one of the guard spots. Things change.

The only way he beats out Curry is if Curry misses a lot more games than is previously thought for his ankle injury.

Or if he reaches another level which is possible. People said the same stuff last year about Westbrook having no shot at 1st team before the season and at the beginning. If curry misses a week or two then he’s in the drivers seat. If he misses a month it becomes harder.

Kyrie running on fumes from his vegan diet. He needs to figure out a way to get all 18 amino acids in his diet

Defense has turned back up.
Still #1 in defense. Believe that slide was due to fatigue.

Its still not the defense that’s the problem. Yeah they’ve looked meh the games against Toronto and Cleveland defensively. They’re without their best defender in Smart and the defense is still ranked #1. The issue isn’t really there, it’s the offense and has been the offense all year that has been the problem. If anything that is “average” it’s the offense which as of right now is below average.

I actually don’t disagree with you that the offence seems to be the bigger problem. I was just referring more to the 15th ranked D over the past 5 games in addition to that.
