IT was 2nd team all league and 5th in MVO voting. You just out Kyrie 1st team and top 3 even though he’s having an inferior season.
So both stats and team record are irrelevant? Got it.
Why don’t you explain to both me and the masses what it is that makes Kyrie the equal of Curry so far this season? What would it be that you’re basing that statement on?
Well, he is averaging 24.3 ppg, shooting 49.5% from the floor, 39% from 3 and a career-high EFG.
And, he is doing it with a team that is one of the youngest in the nba, that starts a rookie, a second-year starter, and a role player in Baynes.
And, Kyrie is just starting to get comfortable.
He also has been lights out In the 4th, and has made his teammates better, Tatum, Brown and Baynes.
And, ask Celtics fans Kyrie or IT. No one is missing IT. Ya gotta watch him play. I think if you just look at box score, your missing it. He isn’t dominating he ball like IT did.
And, I love IT. Kyrie is the goods, however. He and curry are the favorites for that Other guard spot on the first team. Wall, IT, Westbrook won’t be there.

You just said stats were irrelevant when I noted that Curry has better numbers. And then that was the first thing you came with.
I give up.
You actually can. But it’s not in the way that it’s been stated. Durant and Curry play off one another so when the voting comes it’s going to be almost impossible for either one to be ahead of Kyrie unless KD clearly outplays Steph or vice versa. That’s what happens when you have 3 stars on your team. Basically voters in theory get behind one player per team. If KD and Steph are in the top 5 it splits the vote.
Now while I would put Kyrie in 3rd currently it has to do with his ability in the clutch and yes the 4th quarter. Say what you want but it’s a massive achievement that the Celtics still have the best record in the east with Hayward going down. Kyrie looks like he’s an actual alpha outside of the playoffs as well. Is he a better player than Curry? No. But that doesn’t actually matter for voting purposes. If CP3 starts putting up 25 points and 15 dimes a game it’s going to screw with Hardens candidacy too. No clue who will win it this year. But it’s probably going to be a better race than last year where from game 10 on it was Harden vs Westbrook.
