Hawks, as of right now, have a full roster and young players in the G League. They also have many
first and second round draft picks coming in the next two or three years.
Hawks, as of right now, have too many pieces. They must be consolidated.
Agreed. Well stated.
I've been convinced that Travis will attempt to move Dennis next summer for another lottery pick. And I still think he'll try.
But I wouldn't be surprised if Travis considers combining Taurean with the Minny Pick (projected to fall between 18-23) for a chance to move up as well...if there is a player available he really likes.
TP is on the older end, but still on his rookie deal for a couple more years. Meaning he can contribute now on a team further along than us, and count minimally on their salary cap.
Teams like LA Clippers, NO Pelicans or OKC Thunder could each benefit from a cheap, young 3 & D contributor (+ a late first rounder) instead of a young draftee that won't contribute for years.
Overall, I definitely foresee Travis consolidating some of these picks in pursuit of guys he really likes.
