I complained about that too then, and it was met with resistance (by some of the same people, so they are red herrings), like we should just capitulate. It warranted more like around 100m in public funds instead of 250m. But they played their cards, some strong (fear the team may move eventually), some weak (that it could happen if the arena weren't built by 2017, even public/public private funding, the fact they'd have to rebuy at a much higher sum if they'd even win the bid if the team were moved), and the public + some of the probably bought politicians relented. This just pours salt in the wounds that they are going to now use much of that public money to serve the corporate class.
But we can by all means rehash just how manipulative their tactics were during the funding process also. They rely on people having short memories and not holding them to account for major past transgressions.
