Now if they start him and move Khris to sg, god help us. That would be appalling. There would hardly be a team in NBA history with a greater discrepancy between actual on-court play vs. theoretical on-paper value.
Outside of this year's OKC...
I don't know. Melo is not a good player at all anymore and PG hasn't been the same since the leg injury. He's a pretty offense-oriented player at this point, though a lot of people still give him credit for the defense he used to play. I didn't think they would be much better than they are.
But yeah, they come to mind. So do the Rockets with Pippen, Dream, and Charles. Odom, Brand, Maggette, Miller, and Olowokandi (halfway decent in his contract year) were a joke. The Nuggets with Melo, Camby, Iverson, J.R. Smith, Kenyon Martin, and Nene went 1-9 in the playoffs. I think the Mavs with Dirk, Finley, Nash, Jamison, and Antoine Walker might take the cake.
All those teams had huge issues with spacing, defense, ego, diminishing returns from having more capable scorers than necessary, and/or professionalism, and usually a combination of those things. The Bucks with Bledsoe, Jabari, Giannis, Henson, and Khris in the starting lineup would have hints of all those things.
