The era of point guards being primarily assist men is over. Good point guards are now ball-handling combo guards. Is Kyrie Irving more of a playmaker than scorer? Is James Harden? Is Steph Curry? Russell Westbrook? Lebron James? Isaiah Thomas? Damian Lilliard? Tony Parker? Kyle Lowry?
Basically, you're better off with your primary ball-handler being an efficient 23 and 7 guy rather than an efficient 17 and 10 guy. And either one of those guys is better than an inefficient 20 and 10 guy.
