I take this to mean that Danny and CBS believe that we can make a legitimate push to get into the finals.
unfortunately, it has been a bad luck year with the Season opening injury, or watch out C's.

Yeah, Leroux argued the Celtics got worse in both the near term and long term. Just a terrible take. He seems to strongly dislike the Celtics, partially due to the rabid fan base, and i think it often bleeds through into his analysis.
Re: Gordon, I cant see Orlando not demanding the Memphis pick from us. I hope Im wrong, but thats what I’d ask for if I were them. I think, push came to shove, id do it, but im not fully confident in my answer right now.
Danny doesn't dislike the Celtics or any team. He picks on Celtics fans for being delusional at times, but we all know that is true.
He either dislikes the Celtics or he's a moron. Take your pick.

For us I think it could be worth the game because he could put us over the top and give us a trade chip for AD (or whoever else may come on the market).

Seems like a player Ainge might be interested in especially since the Celtics have limited options for next year as far as obtaining new players. Gordon would also fit the Celtics nicely. Don't know if Ainge would want to pay him next year a huge contract though.
Just speculation.
I flip back and forth on if team should move al to PF or keep him at Center.
I find he is at his best at the PF spot, adding someone like Gordon forces him to remain at center.
Well Al is the 11th highest paid player, I think Hayward is the 4th highest paid player in the NBA this year.
So if we traded for Aaron Gordon we'd need to move Al for an expiring or some cap relief.
Our owners didn't really pay any luxury tax during the entire last championship run. CLE alone payed more last year than they did for the entire 4-5 year period. But even CLE would blink at having 3 maxes and Aaron Gordon who will absolutetly be a max player.
He's what everyone is looking to build around 22 year old 6'9 versatile PF. Who can hit the 3, play defense, rebound, ect.
For reference, he's only 1 year older than Jaylen Brown. This is absolutely a massive mistake to let him go by the Magic for anything short of a known top 5 pick in next year's draft. But I guess they just looked at Oladipo and decided they can double down.

I’d buy low.

In the article I linked above it talks about Boston's need to generate salary for trade purposes to go after an Anthony Davis or Kawhi Leonard and not have to overpay in talent because of a lack of salary. Smart was a candidate for this but his play just doesn't justify the money, so Boston may look to acquire a Randle, Hood, or Gordon to essentially turn into a Tobias Harris or Vitor Oladipo type trade ballast.

Wizards are the kings of this. They gave a first for Bogdanovic last year

That’s why I want to use the DPE on an impending MLE like Monroe. He gets a couple of million more to go back to New Orleans this summer.
