Would TJ accept a demotion when he's putting up 20 a night (and on a winning team, might start getting all-star consideration down the line)? If Booker-Jackson-Warren-Chriss-[Center] works, that might be the most elegant solution. Sure was nice to have a size advantage at both guard spots last night (though we'll have to see how we do when we're not defending a bad team shooting "lights on").

Then again, great teams usually have great sixth men, and TJ would be hands down the league's best, in my view. But if you do that, you better be winning. A lot.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the Suns had Ayton atop their board, due to upside and fit. I still have Young there, but I rarely maintain a favorite consistently throughout the draft process (notable exception - TJ Warren in 2014). Wouldn't surprise me at all if we love Bagley, too.

I also want Warren and Jackson both starting. But could Suns go [PG]-Booker-Jakcson-Warren-[Center]? I'm not sure if Chriss will develop into starter on a good team. And we would still need center anyway, ideally one who can shoot. But if we could get Doncic and play 4 players all 6'6-6'8? That would be interesting. Not sure if it would work with Young. That team would really lack size and may need to start more traditional PF.

I'm ready to build a team with no one smaller than 6'6" in the starting lineup.
As I said earlier, if we have a chance to draft Doncic or later in the draft Shai/Troy Brown, you gotta do it.
DBook needs that secondary passer (who might be JJ btw, but u cant have enough playmakers in this league)

Young-Booker or Doncic-Booker backcourt would give us flexibility to mix and match for the rest of our roster.

Looking at teams like GSW, Houston, Toronto, Portland that's been a successful formula.

I don't think it's that easy to get a guard that can shoot and pass like that in free agency. Ayton is a phenom, but I think Young does more for our team. There seem to be a lot of centers out there and their cost seems a lot less than guards these days given the evolving league, small ball, etc.

Yep. There have been plenty of 20-10 bigs coming into the draft. There are even several in this draft. When was the last time we ever saw a 30-10 (assist) pg coming into the draft? I cannot remember one. Its not just Young's shooting, its his ball-handling, game management, passing, and steals (2 a game).

Dude will not be anything in the NBA. He got recruited by his dunking hype . Before that it was just smaller schools.

I don't even think he will get drafted first round.

2019 is guard heavy. That is why i originally said we should get Bamba this year. If Trae Young or Ayton fall to us I take them over bamba.

Next year we can get the shooters in the draft unless we decide to max out a free agent.

I think Bagley could fall - rich man's Julius Randle who's struggling to get playing time or attract a 1st rounder.

Wrong kind of tweener for todays game. Not a rim protector, not a 3pt shooter, not even a low post presence like Al Jefferson (or Monroe) used to be. Memphis could take him if they think Gasol is comfortable shooting 3s at this stage of his carreer, and they really like Bagley, and think he can pick things up from Gasol on the block, and learn to shoot a bit better. Or we might take him if we really trust Bender to become a strech 5, like a rich mans Frye. Both require more than a little faith.
Sucks for him, he would have been a surfire no1 pick a decade or so ago, as he is a really good basketball player.

Tough 2nd half for Trae.
On a side note, JJJ has 5 blocks in the first 12 minutes of play :D

Trae Young has struggled against Sexton and Bamba's teams but if he slips to 5+ that may be good for us.

Good read. Oh my those clips of doncic passing are so pretty. Dude has such an outstanding feel for the game. Its super impressive what he's doing in europe at his age. I'm sold he's my no hesitation number 1 pick.

Ayton is the pretty clear 2 IMO. After that it's close. This draft looks super nice. This top 7 is stacked and sexson and both bridges are nice prospects.

I like what I saw from young in the Texas game. he will have more space to operate and shouldn't be constantly double teamed in the NBA. I loved that he took the loss very personally. It's probably the only thing I actually miss about the Morris twins. Bamba didn't do much for me this game. I thought roach ll and osetkowski had a better impact. My list is firming to the two guards and then bagley. The bigs in this draft scare me.
