As I said the other day, I'm obviously biased with this trade due to the possibility of having a Spaniard playing in Charlotte, but I think that we won the trade. As you have said, we do not have a good record with 2nd round picks (either with who we pick or an immediate selling) and Willy is better, and capable of being way better, than JoB.
Another trade must be in the works, though. I would bet on Howard, as _Tijo_ said. With regards to Willy, he is not the lazy player someone said before. With the national team, he is pure effort and really helped Spain in our latest championships as a replacement to(or playing alongside) Pau. Of course, the NBA is not the same and perhaps, after last year success, he gave for granted that he was going to play, but still 23 and good work ethic. Hope he thrives here
Hope I can now buy a Hornets jersey in Spain.
Ive always liked his skill set. My only concern is the Knicks fans saying he came into the season out of shape and got beat out for a rotation spot by Kyle O'Quinn.
He looked good in the Eurobasket, though, but perhaps afterward he was careless with his shape before training camp. I think it was more of a mental block when he saw himself behind O'Quinn and Kanter arriving. Hope he gets PT and improves on NBA defense here
