Burke stopped growing at 15.
So you admitting you a hater. You basically saying no matter Frank's production, you will never give it up cuz he isn't your ideal physically.
No because what makes Frank special is attributes Burke could never posses. Frank can develop as a scorer but Burke will always be a midget. Isn’t your mantra that if Burke had Frank’s size he’d be a top 10 player? So by that logic if Frank is doing what Burke is doing offensively in 3 years he should be a top 10 player right?

not a fan of Jackson so whatever. want neither running my team.
Taking Trey Burke over Collison is just flat out (Please Use More Appropriate Word) though. Collison can run a team, score way more efficiently, and defend much better then Burke. He’s almost shooting 50% from the field this season and a big part of the Pacer’s success this season.
Fultz as a prospect >>>>> Trey I don’t care if he’s a question mark right now. But like I said Ben Simmons is the starting point guard so that’s irrelevant. Burke or Mcconell I’ll still rather have TJ.
Tron, you know I love yah but you’re wrong on Burke.
Every PG doesn’t have to to be the main facilitator or go to ball handler.
Philly is actually a great example. Ben Simmons can play all over the floor just like that dude LeBron. The actual 1’s they play with were/are more like 2 guards. Secondary facilitators.
Frank can still be the “point” he’s just playing the 2. Another ball handler on the court that can create, dish and score will never be not welcomed by me with open arms. It’s not like Trey is the only ball handler we have. We have big guards to go with him. It’s not a bad thing.
Trey is allowing Frank to grow at his own pace. Why this is seems to be mentally charged. Frank can’t be the only ball handler. He becomes timid because he thinks he MUST distribute at all times. Put Trey on the court with him and for some reason he relaxes that thought process.
Don’t move the goal posts. Trey is fine as a starter because this team is bad. He would no start on a good playoff bound team period. I asked you to name me one and you couldn’t. Detroit is not a playoff team. He is not the starting point guard of the future he is a spark plug off the bench.
I can’t get into honest debates with you over him if you actually think he’s a better point guard then Darren Collison. He’s lighter skinned that’s about it.

He has to know opting out dramatically increases the likelihood he won't be back.

I made a mistake wit my original quote. It was supposed to say "no matter BURKE'S production..."
But to keep it funky, if Frank had Trey's handle, quickness, wiggle, current shooting accuracy, and most importantly - OFFENSIVE AGGRESSION - to go along with the length and defensive potential... yes, he'd be a top 10 player.
Issue is I doubt Frank acquires those ball skills, quickness, and adopts that aggressive mentality.
But back to my original question I fixed. So you will never give it up regarding Trey if he keep producing cuz you don't like his physical profile?

no one can hate on the dudes production right now. He been instant offense of the bench. He's quick, really nice handles, and has been making his outside shot at a great consistency early.
My two concerns (for sustainability) are as follows, I think they are fair.
his offensive shot chart.
http://nbasavant.com/player.php?ddlYear=2017&ddlShotMade=&ddlTeamDefense=&player_id=203504
Burke is taking 52% of his shots in the long mid range 2 area. That is a even more mid range jump shots than Carmelo Anthony last year 49% (who a majority of people thought takes way too many mid range shots). Widely known as the least efficient shot in basketball.
Now Burke is also making his mid range shot at 58% (a ridiculous amazing %). The league average for long mind range 2's is about 40% this year. That is almost 18% higher than the league higher which just is unsustainable. He's makind his mid range shot almost around the league average around the rim (63% league average around the rim) that is basically burkes % in the long mid range so I just question the sustainability. I guess we will just have to see but the #'s really aren't in his favor because he would be setting a record breaking efficiency type pace.
As far as his defensive goes. I will give it up to him he is trying. He's never been a good defensive player but I really can't fault the effort. But the #'s from last game. Mudiay/Burke shared the point guard role almost half the game each. And Kyrie Irving and Rosier who they combined defended scored 45 pts together. That is way too much to allow to one position. Now burke has shown more to me on defense then Mudiay so I will give him that...but his length issue even if he gives good effort might be too much to overcome.
Other than that I have been impressed. But those 2 reasons alone at least give me questions about his longevity becoming a "starter". Now as a instant offense guy off the bench. I think he's perfect for that role. Those are just my initial opinions on the subject.

If he agrees to something similar to a 15 mil/4 year deal I could see them bringing him back.

what funny is you take everything so literally....he did outplay them. But I never ever wanted him to opt in. I actually wish he plays well so he thinks he can get more $$$ on the open market.
Saying someone plays well doesn't me you like him as a player. It just means you acknowledge they played well. You think I want to be paying the man 18 million? Come on bro where are you going with this, this is a huge reach even for you.
god shammgod wrote:i done told everyone he's opting out. he's having a career year. this is is chance to receive another long term deal on similar money. and this dumb franchise will be the one who pays him.
look, we should just shut down the forum. because there's no reason for anyone to be a fan of this team anymore. they're gonna just keep making the same mistakes forever.

MP4LIFE wrote:10 things to like about the Knicks this season? Is this a serious question. My question was actually serious. Give me some things to be happy about.
KP played pretty well without Melo and then tore his ACL.
I like Frank, even though he needs to show more.
Hardaway Jr is awful.
I’m a Kanter supporter. Always have been.
Courtney Lee is a nice piece with no future here. Same for O’Quinn.
Noah is a disgrace.
Hornacek isn’t good.
I want to see what Dotson has.
What else should I be praising? Lance Thomas? Rambis? Ron Baker? Jack?
What are the 10 great things we’ve done this season? I’m interested to know your list.
I’m sure lottery bound teams with their only star player out with an ACL injury have a lot to be happy about in a season. Especially when they played their vets for most of it.
