....While Foreman has had success with late picks, this could end up being Foreman's highest pick since being named GM. The Bulls could go best available or search for a prospect big man to pair next to Markkanen. If the Bulls miss out on Bamba or Jackson, it could make sense to move down into the Williams or Gafford range, especially considering that Foreman is no stranger to draft-day trades.

Thoughts?

I don't like that at all.

We have just as huge a need at 3 (actually, bigger imo since I see it being fairly likely that we finish games with Lauri at the 5 down the road; obviously, if we are able to snag someone like JJJ, that scenario is unlikely). This team's biggest need is for big, skilled athletic wings imo.

Secondly, it sounds like they are suggesting we trade down to around where the Pelicans pick might end up.

I suppose it depends what compensation we received to move down, but my initial reaction is that I don't like the idea or their reasoning behind the idea.

Porter at #6 (if he's available and if Bamba or JJJ are gone) and Gafford at #18 would be ok with me.

I want (in order): Ayton-Bamba-JJJ-Bagley-Porter-Doncic. If not one of those I'd rather trade down depending on what's available in return. If someone falls in love with say Young, would love to move from say 7-8 down to 10 and add a future asset or another pick in the teens to get 3 swings. However, I have full faith in Forman's drafting. Outside of Tyrus/McDermott, the picks have generally ended up far superior to the draft slot. So if they end up 8 and say take Carter, I'll be fairly confident that he's going to be at least a solid player based on history.

My guess though is that there will be some movement where someone has a big tournament or combine and moves into the top 7-8 so at least one of the above will slide.

5 is the highest I see us going to be honest and i'd be more than fine with that. As bad as you want to be this year, you just can't out tank some of these incompetent teams like Sac/Phx/Orl... At that pick I see us getting JJJ or Bamba and i'd be very happy with that.

I never saw that dunk at around 1:13. That was pretty impressive. Reminded me a little of Pippen.

I wasn't sure (and I'm still unsure) how Mikal's 3 ball would translate to the NBA line, but the shot at 2:55 gives me confidence it will transfer at least as far as open stand still 3's. The way he shoots it so high up and away from his body gave me concerns that the length of the NBA 3 point line would be a potential problem, but everything about his form seemed to stay smooth and consistent compared to when he shoots from closer distance.

It's impressive how much he has improved year to year since he has been in college.

We'd be much better off drafting one of the Bridges than trading down for more low 1st rounders.

Stars still come in the top 10 of the draft, it would be insane to give up that pick.

Porter could always refuse to work out for any team but Chicago. Not sure why he would do that, he could.

I doubt he'd do that, but what could easily happen is that he won't disclose his medical information to any team period, and that will cause him to drop.

This is exactly what happened with Dennis Smith Jr, he kept his medical history private and he refused requests to be examined.

Teams were turned off by that, and he fell out of the top 5.

I think there's a pretty obvious strategy to employ if we're trying to get MPJ to drop.

You guarantee him that you'll take his brother as well with the other 1st rounder. MPJ then doesn't share his medical with any team other than us. We take MPJ and Jontay. That seems like a rather reasonable string of events.

I'm not convinced on his fit on our team though (with Lauri specifically).

yeah, if you're gonna read into it it's easy to see that as cuonzo being frustrated MPJ is being held back even though he could probably play. which is possibly a good sign overall re: his health?

i just wanna watch dude play tho

Jontay Porter had a god damn incredible game tonight.

4-4 from 3. 6 assists.

I would be thrilled to land him with the Pels pick.

He's not the sexiest pick but super well rounded. Has not been talked about enough for the Pels pick.

Sounds like this writer is not aware that we have the Pels pick, which we could use to take one of the players he mentions.

I like that strategy, and we're in the perfect position to pull it off. Wouldn't it be ironic though, if Jontay ends up the better player?

Non sensical. You shouldn’t move down in the NBA. Especially not after having tanked so hard. Especially when you already have a second first rounder.

I have zero interest in a well rounded pick. Year 1 of the rebuild: we can take risks

Sounds like a lot to go through for a player still living off high school hype.
