It's a nice article. Two takeaways:
One: big difference between 28 and 18, especially when the 28 year old had 10 years of mileage playing against the likes of Garnett, Duncan, Malone, Shaq, C-Webb, etc.
Two: Anthony Randolph is in Euroleague, that alone speaks volumes to the disparity in talent between Euroleague and the NBA.
Aren't we talking about Doncic and comparing him to his draft class/peers? Am I missing something here?
Well I said a lot of things, so not sure what was being brought up, but sure, fair enough. One thing I've mentioned is the level of competition in Euroleague is not great, I think if Randolph is there (albeit it as a teammate) that speaks volumes, that guy was all but booted from the NBA for sucking.
With respect to talent in the draft class, I've commented on how doncic does have some ncie skills, even compared him to solid NBA guys in the mold of Joe Ingles and hedo Turkaglu. That said, in this draft, I would not take him over Ayton, Bagley, Bamba, Jackson jr, Mikal bridges, or a healthy MPJ. I'd put him in the tier of Wendall Carter and Colin Sexton.
You are right about 25+ years old Randolph, he is not in NBA.
There is still sweet 16 teams fighting for a NCAA Championship right now. All young guys. 192 of them. The best of the best who we are still watching them compete not just talking about them in vacuum.
How are this guys doing, (Ayton, Bagley, Bamba, Jackson jr, Mikal bridges, or a healthy MPJ)?
Are they still in competition for championship?
