No need to create a persecution complex where one isn't needed. People weren't heavily sleeping on Simmons or not voting for him out of jealousy. He was either forgotten by people voting since he was a different draft class, got drowned out by the overhype of guys since it was in August and everyone else was at peak hype or got discounted by guys because he'd have to share spotlight with Embiid and Fultz. Everyone knew he was gonna be a beast that's why he went #1 overall (might not have known he'd be this good, but again no need for a persecution complex).
In other news, Jayson Tatum is now in line to get a crack at showing just how legit he is. I don't expect him to carry the bulk of the burden of Kyrie's absence, but he's going to bear his share. I think they're in real danger of not making it out of the first round with all the injuries they've racked up, hopefully Tatum has some rookie magic.
Watched Donovan's highlights from last night, he's such a stud, but Ben's pulled too far away from him now in my opinion. I think he'll still get his fair share of the votes, particularly if Utah has a HCA series in round 1 of the playoffs, but think he'll still fall short. If Philly were scraping their way into the playoffs I think there would be a case for DM given the team success, but they're poised to knock the Cavs down to the 4 seed with a win tonight.
Speaking of Cleveland, I've been disappointed with the disappearance of Ante Zizic. He had some solid outings in March with 10+ minutes, but he's back on the pine. I guess Love coming back means there just aren't any spare minutes, but I'm still holding out that this guy will be a sneaky good asset to come out of the Kyrie trade.
