At this point if you're them though... you'd have to think they wait it out a little and see if better opportunities arise than us and the Knicks. Even if it meant sticking it out in Utah/Toronto another year until a something better comes up. Maybe I'm just too doomy and gloomy on here.
problem is, good jobs generally dont fire their coaches. They are going to go to a rough spot no matter what team it is
True but there's so much coaching turnover, it'll happen to a young team with good talent. Milwaukee will have a vacancy, Denver has been rumored to make a change, who knows about Gentry in NOLA all their fans seem to hate him, and there are always some wtf firings that no one seems coming. Just saying, I wouldn't blame those higher up assistants if they stayed patient for a decent opportunity.

And a few minutes later, Charlotte fires Clifford. Not that they're in a great position compared to us, but virtually everyone's is probably looked at as better.

Jonathon Simmons, who left the Spurs last year, for the Orlando Magic, said in 2015 that Hammon is a “players’ coach.” He told me that he meant it literally: “She once was a player, so she understands, she relates.”
Sentinel writer Josh Robbins wrote about Hammon from Vegas. That story reaffirmed a belief I have always had. I believe women are, in many ways, more qualified to be NBA coaches than men.
Let's face it, being an NBA coach isn't so much about X's and O's and out-scheming the other team. It's about gaining the respect of your players, massaging egos, establishing a culture, instilling discipline. As the late, great Chuck Daly once said, NBA players must "allow you" to coach them.
I don't know the exact percentages, but I do know this: Many NBA players come from single-parent homes where the mother was the sole breadwinner, authority figure, disciplinarian and mentor. From LeBron James on down, many NBA players have been raised with little fatherly guidance and a strong female presence in their lives. They have been programmed to believe that women will look out for their best interests whereas men -- not so much.
So why wouldn't that female admiration and respect convert to coaching success? Why wouldn't NBA players respond better to the demands and commands of a woman than a man? I'm saying they would.

If former-GM Hennigan were still here, this is more plausible out of the San Antonio system. But I would think one of the two Toronto guys is the favorite.

He got famous because of ranting after a game.
He had 43 win season last year on West, that would bring him 11# spot this year.
He was fired after he was benching Gasol for no good reason and after he lost 8 in a row.
Only reason why he is still relevant, for somebody who has 50-51 win record is fact that he is buddy with Lebron and Wade, both "outraged "with him being fired on twitter and that's how story picked up in first place.
Blatt was undercut in Cavs by LeGM to hire his puppet .
Kevin Ollie is interesting name to me.
Darvin Ham,who works for Atlanta, worked with Kobe and Gasol as development coach.
Monty is interesting name, he kind a overachived with Pelicans given how trully terrible roster he had.
Nurse was coaching scrubish British basketball league , i guess D league is where he made name for himself, not gonna lie i don't know much about him.
Ettore Messina is still biggest coaching name outside NBA that never coached.
Personally, from Europe i really like Lithuanian legend Jasikevičius, during 2017 Popovich himself called him to Spurs summer league, but he declined due other duties.
if Ollie cant succeed in College, why do you think he would succeed in the NBA?
Ham worked with the Lakers from 2011-2013. I think Kobe and Gasol were pretty developed by then. not something i would hang my hat on,

apparently, the problem is Fiz was brought in to establish a change in culture. Unfortunately for him, the Grizzlies, lead by Marc and Conley, has long established the foundation and the identity of the Grizzlies franchise. And he went directly to the head.Blue_and_Whte wrote:tiderulz wrote:pepe1991 wrote:I'm still confused with Fizdale love in nba fans circles.

I don’t even see why people want the guy personally. I’d take Steve Clifford or Nurse over Fizdale easily.
