To add a grain of salt, the Knicks brass know that fixing this is a long term project so putting this expectation out there and making it sound like a fan plea is just good business. Having said that, I think it is awesome that a conversation captured on this forum was, as you said, validated, corroborated if you will, by these guys. They remembered that convo, that day enough to be still thinking about it over a year later. That's pretty awesome. For as much time as we all think about the Knicks, their coach etc, most of us know that we're not a blip on their radar. Delvec obviously is on the mind of Perry Mills.
Going back years now there were skeptics that this board didn't reach the real world of management concerns and I always said that is completely improbable. Delvec made hay out of a perfect situation to share their concerns which was just great, but this board registers.
Word gets around. So I don't think only dummies on twitter are taken into account about what "the fans" think the franchise should do.
Granted, Guitar Jimmy probably figured a long time ago that the flush monkeys who can buy expensive box seats are not necessarily the hardcore fans so perhaps he never cared what dedicated fans really think. But so much damn losing ground this situation down to the point that a legit rebuild became the last option standing.
It just took the right GM to come along and say "look fellas, you and I know this will never work by starphucking our way through this, so why don't we do it the right way for once?"
So I feel the murmur in the background of the real fans who wanted this permeated the atmosphere and we finally got a guy at top to make the case for it, because we know it is right and so does Perry.
