Re: NFL Draft Discussion
If the Giants get Will Hernandez (please, Cleveland) they‘re back on track.
This draft is crazy, such good draft choices and trades for most of the teams.

Bills, Broncos , ravens
Personally I don't feel like the Bills were winners, I don't like Allen at all. He's all measurements, no performance. With the NFL it's almost impossible to be 100% certain of anything but his performance in college was nothing like Wentz like they're trying to compare him to based on measurements. Reminds me of Bruno Cabaclo being compared to Giannis in the NBA. We'll see I guess...
Ballerhogger wrote:Browns should got chub or Barkley first then got mayfield . Bad picks
I agree they should have taken Chubb but there was obviously no need to take him 1st overall when he was there for them at 4th (as it was pretty much guaranteed one of Barkley or Chubb would be). Personally not a huge fan of taking Mayfield but since they were high on them it was smarter of them to take him first since he was long rumored to be the guy the Jets had their eyes on at 3.

I always thought Rudolph was a far more likely pick than Jackson for the Pats. Didn't make any sense that an ol school coach like BB would suddenly pick a guy that is the opposite of that n requires a completely new age/style of play.

Not really feeling the Hurst pick when we had Edmunds and James at 16 but really happy on the Lamar Jackson pick, I think we gave up a little too much though.

Darnold is the best QB in this draft. He has 'it'. Enjoy New York, you got a good one.

Hearing some of the quotes from the Giants GM about Eli and taking a RB at 2 and I can't stop laughing. So glad to be in their division.

Happy with the Ridley pick. We needed a replacement for Gabriel and Ridley can be much more. Now we just need Sark to do something with all of these weapons...

I agree. RB is clearly the most replaceable position in the league. A RB has to have significant hall of fame potential to justify taking him 2nd. This could turn out to be a terrible pick.
Once again Belichick made a questionable decision. The Patriots have far bigger weaknesses than running back and probably could have traded back to get Michel anyways. Also, picking a running back that can't catch is a mistake.

Saquon Barkley is one of the most talented RB´s of all-time and we´ve heard the same concerns the last two years regarding Elliott and Fournette as well and look what they did.
I guess the 2nd pick wasn´t unavailable but the Giants didn´t get a good offer. They did the right thing, get the best player in this year´s class.

The Jags were better without Fournette last year, and although he is talented there is no way he goes close to where he went in a re-draft, same with Elliott who is much better than him, but Dallas would take Ramsey without question in that position, heck, they would have drafted Dak 4th if they knew how good he was gonna be
Gettleman comes out as really outdated and limited when it comes to scouting, the good news is, 75% of the NFL operates that way, the fact that they stick to a board and aggregated draft grades is ridiculous

Re: NFL Draft Discussion
I don’t like the Eagles trade. Don’t get it, short on picks this year and to move back 20 slots to get a 2nd next year and swap 4th rd picks. The swap was 7 picks apart lol

If they‘ll be able to draft Hernandez their oline is way better than last year and with Barkley, the Giants gave Manning one of the best offensive weapons in the league (OBJ, Sheppard, Engram and Saquon is top5 IMO)

Barkley was exactly what we needed. Eli has been playing behind a poor line with no running game for years now. We still need to work on the line, but adding a play-making running back to the team was huge. We definitely lucked out the Browns did not take Barkley first, crazy on their part.

Awesome pick. The last of the Sarkesian recruits. This guy and Greg Gaines at the nose. We shall finally see what Peterson can do with fully his own recruits.

Fischella wrote:The Jags were better without Fournette last year,
Ok, let's stop right there because this narrative I've heard several times, and its patently ridiculous. It's based off the idea that in the 3 games the Jags played without Fournette, their rushing yards per game went up.
But here is the reason why:
Jags won all 3 games comfortably, the closest by 16 points. They played against 2 of the worst run defenses in the league (CIN/IND) and then against the punchless Texans with TJ Yates starting.
Against HOU: 38 carries, 138 yards (3.6)
Against IND: 37 carries, 188 yards (5.1) - the majority coming on one TJ Yeldon run of 58 yards on a busted run play. Without that, 3.6 ypc.
Against CIN: 40 carries, 149 yards (3.9)
For the season, the Jags averaged 4.3 yards per carry, and ran the ball 32 times per game. In all 3 games, the Jags were running inefficiently to end the game, but gain yardage which is ludicrously used as evidence against Fournette, who was 2nd highest in YAC. Side note - Blake Bortles was great in all 3 games. Not that any of those defenses provided much of a challenge, but whatever.
No one who watches football should ever conclude that the Jaguars were better without Fournette. They got more rushing yards per game without him (12 per game) on 6 more rushing attempts per game, and if you factor out TJ Yeldon's one aberration run, its not even close. Fournette clearly impacted the game because teams forced Bortles to beat them often, and he's not so incompetent that he couldn't. Take him off the team and everyone goes right back to pressuring Bortles and the Jags go right back to being a top 10 turnover prone team. With Fournette, they dropped down to 17th, from 7th.

Im not sure I would have taken him over Chubb, but the inherent value an elite RB provides is dramatically understated. The back has to be elite though, and Barkley still has to prove it. But when the RB becomes the focal point of the defense, it makes QBs much better. It makes opposing defenses take more hits on the line. It helps reduce turnovers. It absolutely can change the game. For all the bluster about Dak, he sure looked average without Zeke eating up all the defensive attention. Bortles went from junk time all star to competent game manager.
It's a fine pick and one that should dramatically improve the Giants offense. Their defense is a huge concern but there's still plenty of time to deal with that

Re: NFL Draft Discussion
Hopefully he let them know pre-draft.
Cowboys' pass-catchers situation looking pretty grim right now. At least we'll see if Rico Gathers is for real?
Hurns/T-Will/Deonte... yikes. Maybe ya'll can trade for Seth Roberts?
